I didn’t vote for Antwan Cloud, goddamnit. Just like Eagle’s Landing cityhood or the referendum for the redevelopment powers act that placed false blight designations on every home around the amphitheater. I lose. Every two years I lose a little more.

They said the first annexation “filled in the gaps.” I’m sorry, wtf is District 5? Besides a McDonough ZIP Code, I mean, what is that shape? Is it not obvious that a real estate agent who drives way up here from a spotty McDonough district shouldn’t be able to wheel up here from 7 miles away and bother the fuck out of me? Is it unreasonable? How is Stockbridge also the edge of Clayton County? How do people come many miles to my downtown, from way the fuck over the horizon and tell me what to do?

It matters not. Either I win here, or we’ll all lose together. The City is the one spending on unfunded obligations. Care to guess how those economics play out? That’s right, the massive losses are covered by your property taxes and franchise fees from way, way outside of Stockbridge proper. They call this theft “local control.” just like Consiglio & Clowdus used to banter on about during the Eagle’s Landing cityhood. Make no mistake. You do not want to be part of Stockbridge City.

First your trash service goes away. Then the Stockbridge water bills come and they’ll be double what you pay now. Then the $600 extra Stockbridge property taxes come due. That is your future if these unjustifiable, money grab annexations continue. And then we’ll get to fight them on the millage rate when the County Water millage increase expires.
