Why? Marion has gone down the long road through the courts like I did. Between me and her, you can call any politician you want now. You can repost things on facebook and the cops won’t come harass you as they once did Dr. Flynn over the Eagle’s Landing cityhood. Finally, mayhap you find yourself reading the dissent in Marion’s battle against a false TPO. I won’t name names, but will say that dissent was written by someone with a vested monetary interest in this county. I think, if what our dissenter wrote was true. Then you wouldn’t find Marion sitting in the front row with me or supporting Conserve Henry, who are left leaning despite the moniker, but I digress. I’m willing to work with anyone who understands, regardless of party, we’re being buried under a pile of debt to pay the local, powerful law firm that is profiting from amphitheater construction. There are many accounts of Ms. Calhoun working directly with the homeless, fearless as she is. We’ve heard not one word from the seated council on a plan for these people.
I will recognize the Mayor and Sheriff just volunteered for the Carter Foundation on a housing project 1 mile from here. And you must recognize the Sheriff’s image is tarnished by the many preventable deaths in his jail. While 3 or more deputies covered the many amphitheater shows. In retrospect, I think we can recognize those deputies had bigger priorities than covering a treasury draining music venue. I remember after the Eagle’s Landing cityhood battle, the Carter Foundation came behind the initial “journalist” in the hit job on me. Once I proved them wrong, Christie Ethridge now Diez became a “Carter Mental Health” fellow. It will suffice to say, philanthropy doesn’t serve the the surface purpose they present. Their role has become skewing public perception, to rehabilitate the image of candidates and PR people they perceive to be in the cocktail philanthropy circuit they’re on together.
Mr. Willie Carter? Because Mr. Cloud is a tacit incumbent. I’ve seen Mr. Willie Carter at every meeting asking pertinent questions in seeking the truth. I saw him sit thru monotonous ethics meeting where nothing happened. While giving his comment at these meetings I’ve seen Mr. Carter be forewarned “no campaigning” before he could utter a word. Meanwhile, Antwan is taking pictures with a city nametag. Elton Alexander is wearing an Antwan Cloud shirt at the candidates forum. So, rather than vote for what the city & people like El Mahdi want to endorse, I’d vote for Willie. I’ve watched this man do the work in an example below. This is one of ~50 times Willie has spoken. I’ve never seen Antwan at a meeting.
The person I’ll be voting for for mayor is Jayden. However, this comes with a warning that if you take up the responsibility of the city’s redevelopment plan. I’ll invoke your name aside the loss of my home. Forever, if I have to. Until the idea sticks that you have to pay to acquire private property, rather than “tap it with the blight stick” and take it, while handing me a bill for the egregious violation “dangerous blight.”
To those who don’t live in downtown and have to put up with the noise from the amphitheater. Do us a solid here, folks. So we can have the amphitheater drive business without bothering 1500 people and running the city into the ground. Let’s stop doing favors for certain Eagle’s Landing residents & “non-profit” partners.
