The constitutional laws of the state. The whole office of mayor. I have been a resident. I have been a resident. City of Stock Ring for the entire period of time. For entire period of time. Acquired by the Constitution and laws of the state of Georgia. [0:09:13, 0:09:32]: I will perform the duties of my office. I will perform the duties of my office in the best interest of the city of Stockbridge. The best interest of the city of Stockbridge. Best of my ability. Without fear. Without fear. Favor. Favor. Affection. Affection. Reward. Reward. Or expectation therefore. Or expectation thereof. Congratulations. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. Yes, sir. [0:09:40, 0:09:51]: I would um you can tell we've done that before if you guys can I take a few minutes for a second. Yeah, you go right ahead. Okay. Ladies and gentlemen, I'll take a few minutes here. First of all, I want to let me get here. I want to thank [0:09:52, 0:10:12]: All the supporters of the campaign, but I want to thank citizens topic for giving me four more years. I really appreciate that and I plan to honor that and do the best of my ability along with the council to provide for you the services and things that you need, the things that you need to for you to live uh comfortably and live in this particular environment. [0:10:12, 0:10:32]: That's part of our task in this aspect. And so even individuals that uh may not have voted or may not even voted for me, it doesn't make a difference. I'm still the mayor of the city and I still represent you. And I want to be able to do what I can for you. I live here as well. So if I do good for you, I do good for myself as well. Once again, along with the the uh along with listening to [0:10:32, 0:10:52]: You have that listening area along with the actual council as well. Um, you know, what I want to want to say is that we have this great amphitheater uh that we we actually executed, it's been built by H.J. Russell and Company. That's just part of the phase one of Louisville City's initiative to bring the downtown area to fruition. Uh so one of the things I want [0:10:52, 0:11:12]: want you know is that we still got to work through the uh through the quiet zone help build up our downtown area. I want to continue to do that and work through that process. Want to also we have a cultural art center that we uh we built in a little more than a year from now, right? Roughly less than a quarter mile from this location itself. So we're looking to do that. [0:11:11, 0:11:31]: One of the great things we started to do, and you know about this, as well as gonna implement it in the middle of the summer as our police department. I have Chief Tremor and his and their staff right here with us now, this aspect in the council chamber. So that's a great thing for the city stop bridge. We've got a great chief, great staff for this. You'll see how public service will improve itself as we focus in on the citizens of Stoppridge. [0:11:31, 0:11:46]: itself. So you've got to be happy about that and you'll see the results on the results of having our own police department here in the city as well. And then don't forget about the fact that my mic reminds me all the time, what do we do about Bridges and Jodeco? It's still there. We're going to work and develop that. [0:11:47, 0:12:07]: Got four years, four years time to make all these things happen. And I'll tell you another good thing that you did last November is that you voted T Sploss in. All right. So that means we're going to get close to roughly over a five-year period, close to$30 million for the infrastructure of stock bridge itself, pathways, connecting neighborhoods, connecting neighborhoods to the downtown area. [0:12:07, 0:12:27]: Area, make it walkable, connecting the amphitheater to the downtown area itself, improving the bridge right here, Martin Luther King Senior Bridge right here, improving whether you have a pathway to go across safely in this aspect. Street infrastructure, connecting uh connecting neighborhoods, Rock Boy Road expansion, Eagles Land Parkway expansion, and to work. [0:12:27, 0:12:47]: that process as well. Those are all part of the transportation T-SPLOST that you pass and that it's a good thing not for the city but also for the actual county itself as well. And so it's going to be great for the infrastructure and roads and uh the certain areas of stock bridge will eventually get curves, gutter, crosswide, crosswalks. [0:12:47, 0:13:07]: So you can walk safely and move about bike paths and things of this nature. It's coming, folks. Four years. You gain four years, I plan to make those four years work for you along with the council to make sure we do all the proper things. You saw my wife, a dear wife was here with me, of course. She deals with me every day, day in and day out. And that's I'll sell you. So she's your first lady to stop. [0:13:06, 0:13:26]: Our daughter was here four years ago. She's uh no longer with empty nuts her, so she should be online uh watching this particular broadcast. And my mother uh is with my younger sister and we're roswell, they should be online as well. So thank you, mom, sis, Ariana. Love you all, this aspect for sort of tuning in. Um, ladies and gentlemen, if you didn't know [0:13:26, 0:13:46]: Four years ago when I got sworn in, I had my father here with me. Unfortunately, two little two years ago, he passed away at age 95. I still miss him. And a sad, I still think about him and life's lessons that he gave me as a young child growing up in St. Louis, Missouri. I will tell you though, uh, as I I mentioned, uh, what I'm gonna say next, I mentioned at his his funeral, is that uh [0:13:46, 0:14:06]: But I mean my father had a thing going on whereas that we're always being competitive, even though he's my dad, right? So I will tell you this: he passed away in 95. My thing is I'm not gonna leave this earth until I'm 96. So I got a long way to go. I gotta be my dad at that process, right? So ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna be around for a while. I turned 65 in April, so I'll be around for a while. I just want you to [0:14:06, 0:14:26]: Know that. All right. One other thing I gotta mention. Now, this what I'm gonna say to you next is this this goal to show you how small the world is. Like we have like six degrees of separation. I just mentioned to you I'm from St. Louis, Missouri. I'm also, if you didn't know, I'm also a retired army officer, retired almost 12 years ago. But before I became on active duty in the army, I was actually an army reserve. [0:14:26, 0:14:46]: Believe it or not, ladies and gentlemen, I have my mentor, my last company commander's Army Reserve, but I came off full-time activity here with me tonight. My mentor, Al Greer is his name, retired major. And you know, the thing about it is, we did not connect again roughly, I think, three, four months or so ago. [0:14:46, 0:15:06]: We happen to be together, the VFW fundraiser, a f a fundraiser on barbecue plates. And just God will have it that I got there before he left or vice versa, you know what I mean? So what it is, we just happen to meet. And he said he recognized my voice and my eyes. I had a mask on. So that means I can't do anything wrong because everybody remembers it. Hey. [0:15:06, 0:15:09]: That's the bear over there. You can't get away with anything, right? [0:15:10, 0:15:14]: My point to you is that Al, could could you come in, please, Al, could you come on? [0:15:14, 0:15:34]: I want you folks to see my mentor when I was a young, young lieutenant, and it's been a good folks 40 years since we met up again. And just what happens that his daughter, his kids are in the area, Kim is his daughter, is an AKA, just like my wife, and uh they they know each other, and just really wild how this came about. But ladies and gentlemen, this is Al Greer. [0:15:34, 0:15:43]: mentor when I was a young lieutenant, about 26, 27 years old. And so thank you all for being here. And God got put us together again. God bless you, man. [0:15:50, 0:16:02]: I'm going to tell you on that note, I'm going to be quiet. Okay. And we got a lot of things to do tonight in this aspect. And judge, I'm going to move aside and let you continue on swearing up. Thank you, sir. Thank you, folks. [0:16:17, 0:16:18]: All right. [0:16:19, 0:16:23]: So that way that's the one thing you can think. [0:16:25, 0:16:30]: Who we got with us? I have my two daughters. This is Kylie and Katie. [0:16:31, 0:16:50]: I'm so glad y'all are here. All right, you ready? You'll raise your right hand and repeat after me. I will teach again. I will teach again. Do solemnly swear or affirm. Be solemnly swear and affirm. That I will faithfully perform the duties. That I will faithfully perform the duties. A council member of the city of Stockbridge.
