[0:00:24, 0:00:25]: Bob Schwagert. [0:00:25, 0:00:28]: Here, um uh Maxwell Sears. [0:00:28, 0:00:29]: Yeah. [0:00:29, 0:00:33]: And uh I think these Barber Richardson is uh joining us later. [0:00:34, 0:00:37]: It looks like that. I don't see her on the call. [0:00:38, 0:00:43]: Okay, all right. Um Barber Richardson is is not present right now. [0:00:43, 0:00:44]: Correct. [0:00:46, 0:00:54]: Yes, but uh with uh four members present, we do have a quorum, so I'll call the meeting to order at six oh three p.m. [0:00:56, 0:01:16]: And uh we also have with us uh Vanessa Holliday, our city clerk. So thank you for joining and for your work. Um all right, the first item on the uh is to approve today's meeting agenda. Uh I would like to um I'll hear a motion to approve today's agenda. It was sent out last. [0:01:15, 0:01:17]: Uh Saturday, I believe. [0:01:17, 0:01:18]: So move. [0:01:19, 0:01:20]: Thank you, Bob. [0:01:20, 0:01:22]: Any discussion or edits? [0:01:23, 0:01:26]: Other teachers are really well. [0:01:26, 0:01:31]: Well, we're gonna talk uh certainly wanna discuss uh meal options for [0:01:32, 0:01:39]: Uh the city event, certainly we need to talk discuss that. Barber said there was money available for it, so we need to discuss it. [0:01:39, 0:01:41]: Okay, adding hospitality. [0:01:42, 0:01:44]: Yes, please. [0:01:44, 0:01:51]: And we'll add that to the um if it's all right with everyone, I'd recommend we add that to the treasurer's update. [0:01:53, 0:01:55]: Got it. Thank you. [0:01:56, 0:01:57]: Okay with me. [0:01:58, 0:02:11]: All right. So we'll we'll go ahead and um so I guess uh Bob you had um you you you said okay so I guess you're approving the motion to add uh hospitality to the DDA's budget. [0:02:12, 0:02:14]: Yeah. And do we have a second? [0:02:15, 0:02:16]: So I could [0:02:16, 0:02:19]: All right, thank you, sir. Any other discussion? [0:02:21, 0:02:33]: Uh I'm seeing none. So all those in favor to approve the amended agenda, please raise your hand or say yes. Uh Mr. Sears, I don't see you. So uh please uh verbalize your approval. Yes or no? [0:02:35, 0:02:55]: All right. I see your hand there. Very good. Thank you all. Looks like the motion uh we've uh that's approved. Uh next item on the agenda is to approve the uh meeting minutes. I uh I want to thank Vanessa again for um just capturing such detail to the meeting minutes. I know that's a lot of work. I appreciate your support of the DDA. Um [0:02:55, 0:03:01]: Um and like to go ahead and hear a motion to approve the uh meeting minutes for our last meeting, July nineteenth. [0:03:02, 0:03:04]: Um sub o [0:03:04, 0:03:05]: Thank you, Bob. [0:03:08, 0:03:09]: Sir Second. [0:03:11, 0:03:15]: Thank you, Mr. Sears. Seconded. Any other discussion? [0:03:16, 0:03:22]: I I agree with you, Roger. Vanessa does a fabulous job as a uh certainly reporting secretary. [0:03:23, 0:03:25]: I mean the th there's there's nobody better. [0:03:25, 0:03:27]: Oh does that know? [0:03:27, 0:03:28]: It's telling the story, right? [0:03:29, 0:03:30]: That's the way I look at it. [0:03:30, 0:03:32]: Yeah, yeah, well you tell the story well. [0:03:34, 0:03:43]: You've heard me you've heard me say it. The record is important indeed. Um helps helps alleviate a lot of risk. Um so all right, any other discussion? [0:03:44, 0:03:56]: All those in favor of approving the July nineteenth meeting meeting minutes. Um Mr. Sears. All right, I do see your hand. Very good. Thank you. We'll move on. That's approved unanimously. So we'll start with uh the opening comments. [0:03:56, 0:04:16]: Um there's still an open question. Oh go ahead. I'm sorry. Uh Mr. Go ahead. I think I think you're gonna discuss it. Go ahead. All right. Yeah. So there's still an open question regarding the uh virtual holding these meetings virtually. Um I have informed our DDA attorney. He has not yet uh met with uh the city's attorney to discuss. [0:04:16, 0:04:36]: Because we, as we discussed in our last meeting, there were differing opinions as to whether the DDA could hold its meeting virtually or whether it was required to be in person. Um, Councilman Alexander has intervened and asked our city uh city's attorney to uh contact our attorney, Dan McCrae, directly to try to uh resolve the matter. [0:04:36, 0:04:39]: Um councilman, do you want to add any points to that? [0:04:39, 0:04:44]: I do. I just wanted uh I had some concern about that. I certainly want that put on the record. [0:04:45, 0:04:47]: That I did have some concern. I contacted Mr. [0:04:48, 0:05:01]: uh attorney Washington to see. Uh he advised me that he thought that it would be okay to move forward uh with tonight's meeting. He has um he he sent an email at that time during our conversation to [0:05:01, 0:05:04]: The DDA attorney and he copied me on that email. [0:05:05, 0:05:08]: I asked them to make sure that they included you in the in uh [0:05:08, 0:05:10]: In the response so that [0:05:10, 0:05:13]: Uh, we could get this on record'cause certainly I want to make sure we're doing [0:05:14, 0:05:17]: uh what is appropriate in this situation. But he did say [0:05:17, 0:05:25]: uh in the ordinance uh the revision that was passed, there was some leeway for a limited amount of um [0:05:26, 0:05:33]: uh virtual meetings uh based on what he had said, but this needed to be resolved on our end. [0:05:33, 0:05:53]: That's all right. Thank thank you for your support on that, sir. And uh hope we can definitely get that cleared up before our next meeting. Um Barber's just messaged me. She's got a client meeting running late. Uh she should join in about um about 10 minutes. So um let me let me continue with a few uh [0:05:53, 0:06:11]: uh opening comments. Uh I did want to advise everyone that our uh directors and officers insurance um it changed company so it was like we were working through a broker and then it went to a broker called Snellings Waters and it moved to um I think the actual insurance [0:06:12, 0:06:13]: firm called Cincinnati. [0:06:14, 0:06:21]: And in that transition, we did not get our regular annual renewal notice and consequently our coverage um lapsed. [0:06:21, 0:06:40]: Um that it would have been renewed in April-May timeframe. Um, many thanks to Barber because she intervened in the matter and attempted to correct it. I did get a notice uh earlier this week um asking me to certify that we have not had any claims, which we have not, so I replied to that. [0:06:40, 0:06:44]: And I don't yet have an update as to whether that's been fully resolved or not. [0:06:45, 0:07:05]: Uh we'll hold on that until um Barber joins the call, but I wanted to make you all aware of that. Um next item I wanted to mention, uh there are a few proposals uh to review. I sent out a couple and we'll have that we'll cover that under the uh new business uh later on in the agenda. Um I did want to check. [0:07:04, 0:07:11]: um with um Vanessa if there's been any applicants for the board vacancy. [0:07:13, 0:07:15]: No, we did we had one. [0:07:16, 0:07:19]: Application, however, that was not a [0:07:19, 0:07:21]: City resident or [0:07:21, 0:07:26]: business owner in the downtown district and they were no not eligible. [0:07:26, 0:07:29]: So currently we do not have any, but we are going to [0:07:30, 0:07:34]: Uh move forward with an aggressive campaign on trying to get [0:07:35, 0:07:37]: Volunteers for the boards. [0:07:37, 0:07:46]: in the vacancies that we currently have. So that is something that is coming forward so that we can try to fill all of these boards. But no, excellent the answer to your question. [0:07:47, 0:07:51]: Thank you so much and I appreciate the efforts in trying to uh bring um [0:07:51, 0:07:57]: Bring the qualified members into the group. And and as as Vanessa had mentioned, uh, they must be um [0:07:58, 0:08:04]: uh uh a resident in the the greater city of stockbridge doesn't have to be in the downtown area. [0:08:04, 0:08:21]: um but or um own um have an have an own i i guess having an an interest in or or or manage manage a business in the downtown district. I don't know if you have to actually be an owner or not, but there are a couple of requirements and they need to meet one or the other. [0:08:22, 0:08:42]: All right. Um, last item I want to mention before we move on is um, you know, this board, when fully staffed, is seven board members. It's no one board member can do it all. Some tasks do need to be uh divided to carry out the DDA's mission. Um, I do support Councilman Alexander's initiative to use. [0:08:42, 0:08:49]: use the amphitheater as a business recruitment tool. And I encourage everyone to participate if and when you can. [0:08:50, 0:08:55]: Um, and those are all the updates I have for now. So any other comments or questions before we move on? [0:08:58, 0:09:07]: All right. So we will skip the treasurer updates and come back when Barber joins the call. So uh Bob, that would bring us to the uh secretary updates. [0:09:08, 0:09:09]: I I don't have any Kassan. [0:09:10, 0:09:26]: All right. And we are not joined by um uh representatives from the main street. Let me check to see if they're in the uh attendees. Oh, Kara. She is, yes. Let me bring her in. She's she was on the public side, so just just in time. [0:09:33, 0:09:33]: Right. [0:09:34, 0:09:36]: Maybe I didn't do that. All right. Let me try again. [0:09:38, 0:09:42]: Remote panelist. All right. I don't we'll try it again. Here she is. [0:09:49, 0:10:05]: Hello, I've been trying to join. I'm sorry. I hope you weren't trying to text me. Uh anyways, but go ahead. Uh Kira, you you actually we brought you in just in time. So um we are at uh the uh part of the agenda for the Main Street Advisory Board updates. And Barber is running late. [0:10:06, 0:10:18]: Okay. Um well I did want to let everyone know that there is um training going on at the Georgia Downtown Conference. Um several of our members will be [0:10:19, 0:10:21]: attending um that particular [0:10:22, 0:10:26]: Um session that starts next week. Several will be getting Main Street one oh one. [0:10:27, 0:10:30]: In person. That'll be held on August the twenty second. [0:10:30, 0:10:33]: And then um Main Street staff will be [0:10:33, 0:10:39]: attending the um conference for that week, along with some of our other board members. [0:10:39, 0:10:44]: Um, I think that you all know that um Alan Peterson has left. [0:10:45, 0:10:48]: um his position as economic development director and as [0:10:49, 0:10:52]: Um now going to be with Invest Atlanta. [0:10:52, 0:11:00]: Um, in Atlanta, Georgia, doing some of the same type of um economic development responsibilities that he had there. So we wished him well and [0:11:00, 0:11:01]: Um [0:11:01, 0:11:03]: Hope that he um [0:11:03, 0:11:07]: Does well there. Our advisory board meeting schedule. [0:11:08, 0:11:13]: Um has been um directed to have all in person meetings now. [0:11:13, 0:11:16]: So we wanted to make sure that everyone knows that. [0:11:16, 0:11:17]: The Main Street. [0:11:18, 0:11:18]: Um [0:11:18, 0:11:22]: Advisory board meetings will not be held um [0:11:22, 0:11:25]: V online as they have been up to this point. [0:11:27, 0:11:34]: Um, as far as updates are concerned, we um wanted everyone to know that the summer free movies are back. [0:11:34, 0:11:45]: The Main Street Free Movie Fridays will be um our next session, our next showing will be Spider-Man No Way Home, and that's gonna be August the nineteenth. [0:11:45, 0:11:46]: Um the [0:11:46, 0:11:50]: We will have a few food trucks there. They will arrive around six. [0:11:51, 0:11:56]: And then the movie will start at dark. So we'll have some activities starting around seven. [0:11:57, 0:11:58]: Um a clock. [0:11:58, 0:12:01]: And then they will go on until the movie actually gets started. [0:12:02, 0:12:08]: Um small business Saturday is something that we are working on um very diligently right now, working with [0:12:08, 0:12:21]: Um, both our downtown business owners and our um businesses throughout the city of Stockbridge. This is the only time that the Main Street program kind of steps outside of its boundaries to [0:12:21, 0:12:25]: Welcome all of our small businesses here in the siti of Stockbridge. [0:12:26, 0:12:26]: Um [0:12:26, 0:12:30]: In the spirit of cooperativeness and support of small businesses. [0:12:30, 0:12:34]: to participate in our small business Saturday activities. [0:12:34, 0:12:38]: As well as what we're calling the stock bridge small business blitz. [0:12:38, 0:12:46]: That will occur during the entire month of November. We have a committee that has been meeting for about two, two and a half months now. [0:12:47, 0:12:51]: Um, if anyone is interested in being a part of the small business. [0:12:51, 0:12:52]: Um [0:12:52, 0:12:55]: Saturday and small business blitz committee. [0:12:55, 0:13:00]: Please contact Lisa Fareed. She is the point person for that particular committee. [0:13:01, 0:13:03]: But we're looking forward to having um [0:13:03, 0:13:06]: Аз мані бізнес [0:13:06, 0:13:10]: In our past years, last year I think we had almost forty businesses participating. [0:13:11, 0:13:12]: So we're happy. [0:13:12, 0:13:16]: Hoping to match that number and exceed that number as well. [0:13:16, 0:13:19]: The exciting thing this year we are working on. [0:13:19, 0:13:20]: Um a [0:13:20, 0:13:25]: Small business um blitz passport that will be digital. [0:13:25, 0:13:28]: If you are familiar with our promotion, we have been. [0:13:29, 0:13:31]: Um using a um paper passport. [0:13:32, 0:13:35]: And this year we will have the paper passport. [0:13:35, 0:13:42]: But we will also have a digital passport that you will be able to log on to an app and use. [0:13:42, 0:13:46]: Um, just for the convenience of our um participants. So we're hoping that [0:13:46, 0:13:51]: This is gonna be um just taking our promotion to the next level. [0:13:52, 0:13:54]: Um with regard to [0:13:54, 0:13:59]: One fourteen MLK, as you all know, the Main Street program had [0:14:00, 0:14:02]: started looking into um [0:14:03, 0:14:07]: working on that building and white boxing that particular location. [0:14:07, 0:14:09]: Um, council has decided that. [0:14:09, 0:14:13]: Um they would like to go in a little bit of a different direction and [0:14:13, 0:14:15]: Um they have agreed to [0:14:15, 0:14:19]: fix the roof and then also um make some [0:14:20, 0:14:22]: Um improvements on that facade. [0:14:22, 0:14:28]: And then allow that building to be um considered by several businesses that have [0:14:28, 0:14:32]: um express their interest in locating in our downtown. [0:14:33, 0:14:36]: The downtown sewer work is continuing. Um [0:14:37, 0:14:41]: Burke Street was paved, um, I think it was the week of July thirty first. [0:14:42, 0:14:49]: But the paving, I don't I've got to confirm whether or not that paving is complete because if it's a paving [0:14:49, 0:14:51]: Із консиерт комплект. [0:14:51, 0:15:01]: It's not um quite what I had anticipated. Probably you probably have seen it being down a downtown business. It's kind of [0:15:02, 0:15:06]: wonky and uneven and I'm not happy with it at all. So [0:15:07, 0:15:13]: I will be investigating that a bit further because um I am not in favor of them leaving it. [0:15:13, 0:15:15]: The way it currently is. [0:15:15, 0:15:22]: Um the Berk Street alleyway update. Um, I let our uh board members know. [0:15:22, 0:15:27]: that the city attorney is working on letters that um [0:15:27, 0:15:29]: will be set to [0:15:29, 0:15:34]: Several properties whose property line kind of goes a little bit over [0:15:34, 0:15:37]: The anticipated work area. [0:15:37, 0:15:40]: For the alleyway uh redevelopment project. [0:15:40, 0:15:50]: So we're going to have to get their permission to go onto those um particular properties. I mean, it's literally in some instances just a few feet. [0:15:50, 0:15:53]: But we do need to have permission. [0:15:53, 0:15:57]: to go onto their properties to make these improvements. And we're hoping that [0:15:57, 0:16:00]: Um, they will definitely be on board with um [0:16:01, 0:16:08]: Giving us a little leeway with regard to those um few feet so that we can complete the project. And that's been kind of [0:16:08, 0:16:12]: I guess what you might call the the delay on that particular project because [0:16:13, 0:16:15]: We can't go onto those properties. [0:16:15, 0:16:21]: um digging and moving pavement until we have permission to kind of cross those um property lines. [0:16:22, 0:16:23]: Um [0:16:23, 0:16:26]: As far as our downtown um committees. [0:16:27, 0:16:33]: The downtown beautification and activation committee. Um, it's been several um months since we met, but [0:16:33, 0:16:37]: The last time we did meet, I did um show them. [0:16:37, 0:16:40]: a downtown beautification proposal that would [0:16:41, 0:16:46]: Um, allow us to bring um florals into the downtown area, new shrubbery. [0:16:47, 0:16:49]: Um improve the um [0:16:50, 0:16:51]: I guess uh [0:16:51, 0:16:57]: Beds, the flower beds, there's as you will might recall, there used to be pine straw. We did have that removed. [0:16:58, 0:17:01]: But we want to continue with the the bark as opposed to pine straw. [0:17:02, 0:17:07]: Also under the bridge, those beds that are under the bridge that have been somewhat neglected. [0:17:08, 0:17:10]: The proposal also included [0:17:10, 0:17:13]: Making sure that those particular beds were also um [0:17:13, 0:17:16]: Um filled with florals and shrubbery. [0:17:16, 0:17:26]: Uh we had a um ten thousand dollar approved budget for that particular plan. And uh we have met that budget and we're looking to start. [0:17:26, 0:17:31]: those improvements sometime in September. We wanted to wait until [0:17:31, 0:17:33]: The temperature. [0:17:33, 0:17:37]: Um was not quite as hot to put in all of those new plantings. [0:17:37, 0:17:40]: Um, because we definitely want them to [0:17:40, 0:17:49]: thrive and survive. Um, so we will s probably start toward the end mid to end of September to get those particular [0:17:50, 0:17:50]: Um [0:17:51, 0:17:53]: Those particular plans started. [0:17:54, 0:18:03]: And then we have the Ted Strickland building that is progressing nicely. Uh we have had to contend with some supply chain. [0:18:03, 0:18:07]: delays, um, for example, some of the casework. [0:18:07, 0:18:08]: Um [0:18:08, 0:18:12]: has been delayed cabinetry, that sort of thing has kind of been delayed. [0:18:12, 0:18:16]: And then there um you all have seen um [0:18:16, 0:18:21]: Any plans for our conference room. There is a glass wall. [0:18:21, 0:18:22]: Um in that [0:18:22, 0:18:23]: That's featured. [0:18:23, 0:18:27]: One of the main features of that conference role is called a nano wall. [0:18:28, 0:18:32]: That is delayed in production as well because it is such a specialty item. [0:18:33, 0:18:33]: Um [0:18:34, 0:18:43]: those types of things are being delayed. So we're looking to have that project completed hopefully by mid-October. We were at first looking at [0:18:43, 0:18:45]: mid September, but [0:18:45, 0:18:49]: Unavoidable delays are pushing that to probably mid October now. [0:18:50, 0:18:55]: Um, and I think that that is all that I have uh with regard to [0:18:55, 0:18:57]: Downtown updates. [0:18:59, 0:19:06]: Well thank you, Kira, for that information packed update. I really appreciate that. Uh are there any questions for comments for Kira? [0:19:11, 0:19:31]: It looks like Barber's just joining us. I I do have a question um regarding the alleyway update. Um, is there any way in which the DDA might help say once the letters go out to those businesses that are impacted with the uh who need to approve the property line issue? Um [0:19:30, 0:19:50]: You know, I I could see where maybe we might have a role in personally reaching out to those businesses to see if they have any questions or concerns and and you know, just to help support the the effort because it needs to be unanimous, right? I mean, we need to get consensus from each of those business orders in order to proceed, right? [0:19:50, 0:19:57]: Right. Well, yes, in order for the project to happen, we definitely have to have um access to all of those properties. [0:19:58, 0:19:59]: That will be impacted. [0:20:00, 0:20:00]: Um [0:20:00, 0:20:20]: Main Street staff has been in communication with those particular property owners and we'll be following up once the letter has been approved and signed by the um city manager. Um they then that will go out to those um particular properties. Once that's been done, we'll also do another follow-up. [0:20:20, 0:20:22]: Just to make sure that no one has had [0:20:22, 0:20:23]: Has any questions and [0:20:24, 0:20:27]: Um, we'll probably be setting up meetings as well. [0:20:27, 0:20:32]: just to make sure that they understand the implications of us um, you know, coming onto their [0:20:32, 0:20:40]: property and making sure that they um know what that impact it'll be minimal and ultimately it'll benefit everyone. [0:20:40, 0:20:45]: That has a business um along that alleyway. So I'm hoping that we won't have [0:20:45, 0:20:46]: Any um [0:20:47, 0:20:48]: I guess um [0:20:48, 0:20:53]: adverse reaction to that. But if we do, I'll definitely let you know if that's something that [0:20:53, 0:20:54]: We need um [0:20:55, 0:21:00]: your um members to help us advocate for. And one other thing I did want to mention. [0:21:00, 0:21:03]: I have been in contact with um the public works. [0:21:04, 0:21:04]: Um [0:21:05, 0:21:10]: director about the um alleyway condition as far as [0:21:11, 0:21:11]: The [0:21:11, 0:21:12]: Um [0:21:12, 0:21:17]: Vegetation that has been growing back there. I've requested that that bush. [0:21:17, 0:21:19]: We bush. [0:21:19, 0:21:20]: Combo thing. [0:21:20, 0:21:23]: Um, that's by the utility pole that's right behind. [0:21:23, 0:21:26]: Um one fourteen to be removed. [0:21:26, 0:21:30]: In addition to just coming through and doing some additional um [0:21:31, 0:21:32]: Weed maintenance. [0:21:32, 0:21:36]: Also, the building that is next door that is privately owned. [0:21:36, 0:21:41]: I have sent an email to that particular property owner as well to see. [0:21:41, 0:21:44]: If they can have someone come and [0:21:44, 0:21:46]: um mitigate those um [0:21:46, 0:21:51]: weeds that are growing in the back of that property as well. So I just wanted to [0:21:51, 0:21:56]: mentioned that when I talked about beautification, I had it in my notes here and didn't mention it. So [0:21:57, 0:21:59]: Just wanted to let everyone know that [0:21:59, 0:21:59]: But [0:22:00, 0:22:02]: Um the condition back there has not [0:22:02, 0:22:05]: um gone unseen and that we are trying to [0:22:06, 0:22:08]: Get that taken care of and a [0:22:08, 0:22:12]: A part of that was kind of the delay. We thought we would be doing the [0:22:13, 0:22:16]: alleway work by now. And so it was kind of off of [0:22:17, 0:22:22]: the public works um team's radar as far as maintaining that, but [0:22:22, 0:22:27]: They have been updated and um asked to keep that on their [0:22:28, 0:22:28]: Um [0:22:28, 0:22:30]: their calendar for maintenance. [0:22:32, 0:22:34]: And that's all. Sorry about that. [0:22:34, 0:22:41]: No, that's all right. Thank you. Appreciate the added uh information. Um anyone else have any comments or questions for Kira? [0:22:42, 0:23:02]: Uh yes. I just want to say I absolutely agree about that road. I was like, I know this is not the end point, so have my support on council that that needs to be fixed. Certainly I'm I'm not even sure why they did that. Maybe I'm hope I'm praying that that's temporary because that is not I was surprised. I thought they were coming. [0:23:02, 0:23:07]: coming back and then when they hadn't been back in a couple of days, I was like, no, this cannot stand. [0:23:07, 0:23:13]: Right. So you if you follow up, whatever you find out, please let it know and you need to bring it to council. [0:23:13, 0:23:15]: Uh please do that. So [0:23:15, 0:23:17]: And then I'm good glad that you're on top of uh [0:23:18, 0:23:24]: Following up on this beautification is something that I've certainly supported from the very beginning and having [0:23:24, 0:23:26]: Uh downtown having its own [0:23:26, 0:23:31]: unique space and I you know, I'm a private industry person. I certainly believe in having [0:23:31, 0:23:33]: Uh contractors come in. [0:23:33, 0:23:35]: You hold them accountable. [0:23:35, 0:23:36]: Their people. [0:23:37, 0:23:38]: Uh are very consistent. [0:23:39, 0:23:43]: Uh with what we do with the right of way maintenance in the city and that kind of thing. And then [0:23:43, 0:23:46]: You have somebody that you can call when there's a issue. [0:23:47, 0:23:48]: With a particular [0:23:48, 0:23:53]: uh with that section of town that they can get it right on it'cause private industry can move a lot faster. [0:23:54, 0:24:00]: and more nimbly a lot of times. So I'm certainly in support of doing what's necessary to bring in [0:24:00, 0:24:02]: The beautification of flowers um [0:24:03, 0:24:20]: and and uh all that needs to be done and then even working with Norfolk Southern to be to see what we can do about maybe um you know taking over some of that land and then actually maintaining it uh on the other side uh on their side to just uh make sure that it's a complete picture. [0:24:22, 0:24:29]: Well, I'm definitely looking forward to working with them for that um railroad side of the um downtown. [0:24:29, 0:24:30]: District. [0:24:30, 0:24:35]: We've spoken with them before and actually have included in this particular [0:24:36, 0:24:38]: Um, landscape plan to [0:24:38, 0:24:40]: Do some periphery work. [0:24:41, 0:24:46]: Where we will have some access, but eventually, um, as you all might recall in the RSVP. [0:24:47, 0:24:50]: Plan there were some um some call for [0:24:50, 0:24:54]: wildflowers and things like that that are low maintenance and [0:24:54, 0:25:01]: can easily be implemented and um there are programs with Georgia Department of Transportation. [0:25:01, 0:25:07]: that provide seeds and things like that. So we've been looking into those options as well. [0:25:07, 0:25:08]: Okay. [0:25:08, 0:25:09]: All right, thank you. [0:25:10, 0:25:10]: Mm-hmm. [0:25:11, 0:25:14]: Thank you, Councilman. Any other comments or questions for Kira? [0:25:17, 0:25:36]: All right. And I I I have one I'm not sure whether to direct this to Kira or to Councilman Alexander, but um I I I guess first of all I'll I'll I'll I'll echo uh Kira's um well wishes to uh Alan Peterson. I think he was uh a great support to the city and the DDA. He's worked on [0:25:36, 0:25:54]: There's been great support to us on a number of projects. So we'll miss him and certainly wish him well in his in in his new endeavors over at Invest Atlanta. But my question is, um, who do have we has the city assigned a new city staff liaison to the DDA? [0:25:56, 0:26:16]: I am unaware of that at this time. I had reached out to Mr. Gardner, but he did not. Uh I do not remember a re response uh to the email that I sent. So I'd have to double back to make sure that uh we got an answer to my question. Umright Barber, we uh [0:26:16, 0:26:28]: Um we skipped over the financial. Thank you for letting me know that you were running late with your client. Um we uh if you're ready, we will um we'll double back to the uh financial report. So you have the floor. [0:26:29, 0:26:33]: Okay, hello everyone. I apologize for being late. [0:26:34, 0:26:34]: Um [0:26:35, 0:26:36]: Do I have [0:26:36, 0:26:45]: Do you need me to present? Yes, if if that's okay. Give me a minute and let me get it ready. Uh oh, well. [0:26:45, 0:26:55]: It's gonna take me a second, but but I'll I'll get it as um uh I don't have share screen capability. That's the only Oh let me get it then. Uh [0:26:56, 0:26:56]: [1623.9, 1635.6]: Um, I'm just gonna go ahead and make you host. I think that allows you to do it. Oh. I know. Big responsibility. All right, you should be good to go. [0:27:17, 0:27:17]: Um [0:27:18, 0:27:24]: There it is. Is my screen showing? Okay. So as of July, um for the month of July, we [0:27:25, 0:27:38]: Only expenses we had was our recurring monthly expense for Zoom, which is$40. But then we also, and I'm very happy to uh announce that we did have a facade grant award go out to Fletcher and Sons. [0:27:38, 0:27:43]: That was in the amount of four thousand six hundred eighty-seven dollars and fifty cents. [0:27:44, 0:28:03]: So our total income for the month, zero dollars, total expenses, four thousand seven hundred twenty-seven dollars and fifty cents. So that leaves us for the year, year to date as of July 31st, 2022, with a net income of$35,655.10. [0:28:04, 0:28:05]: Uh [0:28:06, 0:28:09]: Any questions about the profit and loss statement for the month? [0:28:11, 0:28:13]: Okay, I'll go onto the balance sheet here. [0:28:14, 0:28:26]: As of July 31st, our cash balances are as follows: the facade grant,$119,357.15. The operating account,$50,333. [0:28:27, 0:28:35]: $304.08. I will note here that the facade grant funds, because we just have checks for the operating account. [0:28:35, 0:28:50]: That we did pay the facade, we did pay uh Mr. Fletcher out of the operating account, but in the month of August, you would see that we reimbursed the operating account, the$4,687. [0:28:50, 0:28:55]: from the facade grant account to the operating account. So that change will be reflected. [0:28:55, 0:28:57]: In August, but just FYI. [0:28:58, 0:29:08]: So total cash,$169,661. Um, we didn't have any invoices uh for accounts payable for the month and [0:29:10, 0:29:21]: But the cash balance, we had a change in cash of 8,575, which were uh accounted for as follows. We had a legal invoice of 38. [0:29:22, 0:29:25]: Hundred four three thousand eight hundred forty seven dollars and fifty cents. [0:29:26, 0:29:39]: Had a check go out to Fletcher and Sons as mentioned before, and then our recurring monthly bill to Zoom. So net change in cash for the month was a decrease of$8,575. [0:29:39, 0:29:45]: In terms of liabilities, I don't have any open invoices that I know of. [0:29:46, 0:29:47]: That I need to pay. [0:29:49, 0:29:50]: Upcoming expenses. [0:29:50, 0:30:00]: $40 again, recurring. And I missed last month's meeting. So I don't know if if we took a vote or we decided that we were going to join the Georgia Downtown Association as a board. [0:30:01, 0:30:07]: Um, and if so, that fee would be five hundred dollars for us to join as a board. [0:30:09, 0:30:14]: Any questions about our cash, our liabilities, our upcoming expenses? [0:30:17, 0:30:22]: As for the last uh well, first finding questions or comments for Barber, I'll I'll respond to the um [0:30:23, 0:30:25]: The um membership. [0:30:26, 0:30:40]: Thank thank God that the Fletcher uh grant has been my life. I I am so happy to see that money spent. Um and and thanks especially to to to uh to Roger and Barber for for really um um [0:30:40, 0:30:42]: Going the extra mile and getting that done. [0:30:43, 0:30:46]: And although significantly, you know, a little bit late. [0:30:47, 0:30:50]: He was still very grateful for actually. [0:30:51, 0:30:51]: Mm-hmm. [0:30:51, 0:30:54]: I have a question, um, Mr. Chairman. [0:30:55, 0:30:56]: Go ahead, Kira. [0:30:56, 0:31:01]: With regard to the um budget for the DDA. [0:31:02, 0:31:06]: Um, I know that the city is about to enter into their um [0:31:07, 0:31:09]: Budget retreat discussions. [0:31:10, 0:31:13]: Has a budget for DDA been submitted? [0:31:16, 0:31:18]: Barber, do you want to respond to that or you want me to? [0:31:18, 0:31:24]: Uh I d no it hasn't but when is the budget retreat? That's good to know. [0:31:25, 0:31:41]: Yeah. Um, so we have not yet submitted one and um but we you know typically what we do is you know draft one. This this board would meet and approve and uh and then we would submit it over to uh Mr. Wiggins, uh the city um [0:31:41, 0:31:48]: The the city controller, I think is his title. Um do we know the date? So but yeah, Barber's question's a relevant one. [0:31:49, 0:31:52]: Yes. Um Madam Clark, do you want to speak to the [0:31:52, 0:31:59]: budget retreat. I will. So under the new city manager, Mr. Gardner, there's been a change in the [0:31:59, 0:32:00]: format. [0:32:00, 0:32:05]: So he actually is going to meet off site with staff. [0:32:05, 0:32:07]: Beginning tomorrow. [0:32:07, 0:32:27]: Thursday and Friday of this week and go over the department budgets. And then there is a series of budget meetings, including community town halls, and such for the fiscal 2023 budget. So the finance department, uh Mr. Wiggins. [0:32:27, 0:32:28]: We'll be in touch with [0:32:29, 0:32:30]: Uh the D D A. [0:32:31, 0:32:33]: To go over the needs. [0:32:34, 0:32:37]: for the amount uh of your twenty twenty-three budget. [0:32:37, 0:32:44]: But the format has changed a little bit, whereas before counsel would be at the budget retreat and he's starting out actually. [0:32:44, 0:32:53]: with department meetings amongst staff this week. So your department, I mean your budget for the DDA will follow, I'm I'm certain shortly after that. [0:32:55, 0:32:57]: Hope that answers your question. [0:32:58, 0:33:18]: It does, but I think um, you know, I guess I wanna understand, do we need to have like a special called meeting or does he just want to meet with uh say myself and Barber to get representation from the DDA? Uh in any case, we need to have a meeting in order to approve the budget. [0:33:18, 0:33:27]: Well, I think you need to start with the meeting with the city manager and treasurer and to find out what uh that would look like for the DDA. [0:33:28, 0:33:29]: As far as submission. [0:33:33, 0:33:35]: Okay, thank you. [0:33:37, 0:33:41]: Um that does line up though. Um, oh any other questions for Barber? [0:33:44, 0:33:47]: Yeah, Barber, you had mentioned uh we were gonna talk about the um [0:33:48, 0:33:50]: No, you said that there was money available for hospitality. [0:33:51, 0:33:56]: And then uh we did put that under her category, is that correct? That's right. [0:33:56, 0:33:58]: So uh talk could you kind of [0:33:59, 0:34:06]: uh go over that uh with us uh monies available for uh hospitality for various city events. Um [0:34:07, 0:34:14]: That so so that we can be present and understanding that I don't know how many did any of y'all make it to the concert this weekend? [0:34:17, 0:34:19]: Well, you absolutely saw [0:34:20, 0:34:24]: the awesome potential and the power of what we have in downtown. [0:34:24, 0:34:28]: I mean literally it was standing room only and it was epic. [0:34:29, 0:34:29]: I mean [0:34:30, 0:34:35]: From Metro Atlanta, not just Stockbridge, everybody is talking about. [0:34:36, 0:34:46]: What happened in Stockbridge over the weekend, the level of talent, the performances, and the rave reviews for the facility. From the stage, as I always do. [0:34:47, 0:35:01]: I mentioned the opportunities uh in downtown. We actually got a couple of inquiries today that I passed forward to uh the city manager or as far as that is concerned. But please understand that uh [0:35:02, 0:35:05]: Rolling out the red carpet and the hospitality is what [0:35:05, 0:35:06]: Uh, we need to do. [0:35:06, 0:35:08]: And I think uh you know. [0:35:09, 0:35:09]: A mute. [0:35:10, 0:35:17]: Would have seen me going up and down the stairs for Fourth of July with food that I was carrying in myself. [0:35:17, 0:35:19]: That I that I went and bought. [0:35:19, 0:35:24]: that I d I wanted to understand and I wanted the people that I invited to be comfortable. [0:35:24, 0:35:28]: And one of the issues at the amphitheater is food service times. [0:35:28, 0:35:30]: You don't want to have [0:35:30, 0:35:32]: Individuals coming to [0:35:33, 0:35:37]: uh the amphitheater with a you want them to have a positive visit vi visit [0:35:37, 0:35:41]: and experience and I don't want them waiting in line an hour to get a hot dog. [0:35:41, 0:35:42]: So [0:35:42, 0:35:47]: Providing the food for them help it helps improve the the experience. [0:35:47, 0:36:07]: And we are waiting, working on improving those wait times and uh improving customer service in the front of the house uh for the amphitheater. But overall, the experience was absolutely amazing. Uh it has gone A to Z in terms of on social media. Everybody's talking about it around the radio. [0:36:07, 0:36:27]: Everybody's kind of talking about this new facility. Uh, we had a meeting with um the uh operations from uh Georgia Radio Alliance, and um and we met uh with uh we actually we met with uh Georgia Radio Alliance and they told us pretty much that uh [0:36:27, 0:36:33]: Everybody is talking about Stockbridge. Everybody wants to be a part of what we're doing here. [0:36:33, 0:36:38]: And uh and he said it literally went around the world to the most powerful promoters. [0:36:38, 0:36:44]: out on the uh on the planet that could call any star in the world and say they want them to come. [0:36:45, 0:36:53]: Uh that person has reached out to our promoter after this weekend. So it's very impressive to understand where we're going with that. [0:36:58, 0:37:11]: So I uh thank you, Councilman. So I think the question is, you know, how much money we need to set aside for hospitality events, um, I guess in the short term for the remainder of 2022, and then how much we might need to budget for 23. [0:37:12, 0:37:14]: The twenty twenty two. Go ahead. [0:37:15, 0:37:18]: Well but twenty twenty I think the issue is it just kinda [0:37:18, 0:37:24]: Uh maybe we can this is where we really need a staff person to be able to reach out to the various vendors to [0:37:24, 0:37:44]: be able to see, you know, rather before we actually uh go ahead and we could uh uh allot an initial amount, but at the same time we would need somebody to go out and do the legwork to see what it would cost to get uh a caterer to come in and actually set the food up uh on the ver on a weekly basis. We really don't want a staff member [0:37:44, 0:38:04]: somebody doing that. We want somebody to do it professionally as representation of where we're trying to go, not where we've been. It was a struggle for me and myself setting it up. So I know that we need to need to do that. Unless somebody has a lot of experience with uh or a a number that they just want [0:38:04, 0:38:06]: [2286.5, 2288.2]: Monies that we could set aside. [0:38:08, 0:38:09]: I think um [0:38:10, 0:38:30]: In the latest edition, what we had is we had Piccadilly delivered a food. At the last event, it was enough food for about 30 people. And the charge ended up being about$376 for the total charge for that particular event. [0:38:30, 0:38:39]: It was baked chicken. We had some baked chicken, fried chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese. [0:38:40, 0:38:50]: And then we had salads for anybody who uh did not uh mac uh mashed potatoes and gravy. And then we had salads for anybody who did not want to have any type of meat. [0:38:50, 0:39:10]: uh as well. So that wasn't a outrageous amount, but that was from uh Piccadilly on Highway 138. So I know that was under under$400. So if we wanted to let's say put some money aside for maybe the next two um events and then we could cut reallocate [0:39:10, 0:39:21]: Some money at a later part, maybe we would put$1,000 aside for that initially until we could kind of get a handle on what it's going to cost in order for us to. [0:39:21, 0:39:28]: uh make this happen uh on a regular basis. Now that did not include service personnel. They brought the food. [0:39:28, 0:39:29]: They l they dropped. [0:39:30, 0:39:31]: A warming cabinet. [0:39:32, 0:39:39]: And with the pans in it, basically what we had to do was just take it out, set it on the table, and then everybody helped themselves. [0:39:48, 0:39:53]: So if I hit you're saying we have about two more events left in [0:39:53, 0:40:13]: allocate about a thousand dollars combined for those two those next two events not two events left there's not two events left that's for the next two events that we decide yeah to do then we would have that done and then in the meantime once though uh before though when those funds were exhausted we'd have somebody doing legwork on what is going [0:40:13, 0:40:21]: Into cost uh going forward. Let's say we signed a deal with Piccadilly to do it every week. Well, maybe they might, you know. [0:40:22, 0:40:25]: uh do this uh same setup for us. [0:40:25, 0:40:40]: uh on uh for the next four or five concerts, then we're gonna have an idea. But certainly we want to get maybe two or three bids, uh as that's what we do in the city to get two or three so we can understand two or three bids so we can understand where where we're going. [0:40:42, 0:40:47]: You said every week. You mean every week or every event? Every event. Every gotcha. Okay. [0:40:47, 0:41:00]: What's happening? Well right now, honestly, right now it is almost every week because uh with the next few weeks it's almost every week. We have next week we got the ladies' night, then we got UB. [0:41:00, 0:41:12]: 40 and then we got uh I think we got somebody, we got somebody else coming out there. So it's like week after week out there. The next two to three weeks we have almost, we have one a week. Yeah. [0:41:13, 0:41:24]: Are we making a list of our of these relationships we're building for DDA purposes and and entertainment purposes? Is there some way where we're kind of keeping track of [0:41:25, 0:41:31]: you know, these relationships and who we're hosting and you know what follow-up needs to look like to continue to court them into the city. [0:41:32, 0:41:36]: Well, certainly. Uh I have a a list of individuals that [0:41:37, 0:41:43]: I've dealt with personally. I turned most of them over to Mr. Peterson, but of course Mr. Peterson is no longer [0:41:43, 0:41:50]: with us but the city is in contact with several of them and right now as we talk about 114 [0:41:50, 0:42:10]: Uh at least two of them are in contention for 114. There are other parties who are cons uh considering it uh as well. And as far as 114 is concerned, uh the council is reviewing the offers for 114, and then uh a decision will be made based on uh what. [0:42:10, 0:42:20]: what we think best fits uh in what what we're doing. Uh there's been some information requested from uh the interested parties to see uh where [0:42:21, 0:42:27]: who is best fitted because you know you can put a pretty picture you can show i've seen a lot of pretty pictures [0:42:27, 0:42:28]: But [0:42:28, 0:42:31]: It really come down to it, do you have the financial [0:42:31, 0:42:35]: Wherewithal and do you have the professional expertise? [0:42:35, 0:42:36]: To make it happen. [0:42:37, 0:42:49]: So there's some due diligence going on on the offers, not just taking what uh is being said. So once that due diligence is finished, uh the the that's when the decision will be made. [0:42:49, 0:42:53]: And we expect that that to be made within the next few weeks, yeah. [0:42:55, 0:43:03]: What role, if any, does the DDA play into uh these type of discussions or recruiting efforts or um [0:43:05, 0:43:09]: Sometimes I become a little bit lost in kind of where we fit with some of this stuff. [0:43:10, 0:43:16]: Anyone on this DDA you have a connection or anyone any business owner is interested. [0:43:17, 0:43:18]: In coming to the city. [0:43:19, 0:43:23]: Uh what previously what we would have done was referred them to Mr. Peterson. [0:43:23, 0:43:30]: But since he's not there, obviously we're working through Mr. Gardner. Matter of fact, I refer something somebody to Mr. Gardner today. [0:43:30, 0:43:32]: And you would, you know. [0:43:32, 0:43:35]: Allow Mr. Gardner to meet with that individual. [0:43:35, 0:43:42]: And then uh probably downtown uh with the city staff, including Kira and the other team to [0:43:42, 0:44:00]: vet these individuals and kind of show them what the opportunities are. And then uh once they finish that process, they would bring them to the city council. The city council, if it was a city owned property, would would make the decision. If it was a privately owned property, then pretty much it would be between [0:44:00, 0:44:20]: the business owner, the property owner and that business entity to work out their relationship, they would just only have to come back to the city to make sure the appropriate zoning was in place and put to make sure that uh the location use was allowed uh from the city standpoint. So 114 is kind of [0:44:20, 0:44:40]: But is really a unique situation in that we own this piece of property. Uh most of the properties we don't own them will only be resolving through the zoning. But I'm a free market person myself and understanding that, you know, you can control the use of these properties through the zoning. And that's um most of the zone individual. [0:44:40, 0:44:42]: [2682.4, 2702.4]: Is not just going to buy a property. They're going to come and meet with the city and say, you know, is you know, what are y'all looking for? And uh if I buy this particular property, can I get it zoned for such and such? And that's when the discussion really begins, involving the city in the decision in the decision-making process, not necessarily in the financial. [0:45:02, 0:45:03]: Dances. [0:45:08, 0:45:20]: All right. So as far as um setting aside some funds for hospitality events, um, do we have a motion for any action for the board to consider? [0:45:21, 0:45:23]: Well, technically we we have [0:45:26, 0:45:26]: Nope. [0:45:27, 0:45:35]: Uh yeah, in our 22 budget, we did have allocated in there three thousand dollars for hospitality. [0:45:36, 0:45:37]: And [0:45:37, 0:45:39]: So well that's [0:45:39, 0:45:40]: Go ahead, I'm sorry. [0:45:41, 0:45:53]: I was gonna say that um I don't know what the calendar of events look like, but based off of just what um Councilman has experienced with Piccadilly and and the costs and all that, that sounds like it could be enough to carry us through the rest of the year. [0:45:53, 0:45:57]: and the rest of the event year um uh through December. [0:45:58, 0:45:59]: Mm-hmm. I'm guessing so. [0:45:59, 0:46:13]: Okay, but I saw I mean I did not know that. So if that number's is sitting there already, then we would just need to uh use it and exercise it based on uh what we find. I think uh we need to determine uh [0:46:13, 0:46:17]: Uh most of the time I try to get enough food for about thirty people. [0:46:17, 0:46:20]: And that that way, you know. [0:46:21, 0:46:29]: If they bring a guest or somebody else brings a guest, we got overage food. And then, you know, a council member might get hungry. [0:46:29, 0:46:31]: Or board member might get a little hungry. [0:46:31, 0:46:34]: Uh as well. So we'll have an extra flight for somebody. [0:46:34, 0:46:38]: And then you never know if there's a business owner in the stands. [0:46:39, 0:46:42]: We we active if somebody understands. [0:46:42, 0:46:46]: comes down and they have a question about it and they want to bring a business to it. [0:46:46, 0:46:55]: We invite them into that meeting and say, come on and join us at this table so we can talk. The stuff the discussions begin right away. And I'll say, um, [0:46:55, 0:47:15]: Mr. Custon had uh involved and had actually had one of the potential business owners contact him to discuss uh that opportunity. He wanted to know pretty much what was going on. We had already made contact with that individual, but he did the right thing was he came and he wanted to set something up immediately in order to. [0:47:15, 0:47:35]: move things forward. So one you you just your your your thing is get somebody get and get it into the city processes so we can get them talking with the city manager so we can get them talking uh with our main street department so they can review what opportunities are available downtown because you know those are the folks [0:47:35, 0:47:55]: those are the city experts. And once the city experts get through making the presentation and letting them know what's available, then the DDA, once the city, the city will discuss it with the DDA, Mr. Cusson is aware of a couple of the interested parties who are available [0:47:55, 0:48:11]: uh to us. But we don't want it to get out there too much because we want it to be in a situation where the when the decision is made is not s anybody can say that you know anybody had any undue influence uh on the on the final decision. But [0:48:12, 0:48:32]: Once it made big once the decision uh is made, then it'll be passed along with the DDA in a similar intergovernmental agreement like we did uh with the fire station. And hopefully this time we'll have we got all the surveying and everything that we need done based off of the experience we had with the with the uh [0:48:31, 0:48:37]: uh fire station that it would be passed along to the DDA. The DDA would be able to [0:48:37, 0:48:38]: Look at it. [0:48:38, 0:48:41]: Uh get all the details on what uh [0:48:41, 0:48:44]: What the expectations are are from the council side. [0:48:44, 0:48:45]: And then [0:48:45, 0:48:47]: Make a make a determination on [0:48:48, 0:48:50]: Uh on transferring the property to [0:48:51, 0:49:11]: uh the end user because that based on how things are set up at this point, the city cannot sell any properties directly. We have to either use you as an entity to transfer the property or the Henry County Development Authority or the new uh citywide development authority because the city entity can't sell property. [0:49:11, 0:49:15]: property directly to the public and that's how things are set up. [0:49:18, 0:49:35]: All right. So if there we don't need a decision on the uh hospitality, um, I just will mention that, you know, uh councilman, please note that you can certainly trust the members of this uh board to maintain confidentiality if we need to go into executive session. [0:49:35, 0:49:38]: Um w with these um with these uh business deals. [0:49:39, 0:49:48]: Um we're coming back, Barber, to the downtown mentorship program. Um, that was on the agenda for you know our last meeting, but we, you know, we skipped through it. So [0:49:48, 0:50:00]: Would you mind bringing forth what what the consideration is and uh I guess your recommendation for um joining uh that as a as a DDA group? [0:50:01, 0:50:03]: Yeah, so um [0:50:04, 0:50:12]: Let me think. And if Kira's still on, she can probably speak more about it. I'm thinking maybe she'll member. I don't know. But anyway, um, you know, I attended the downtown. [0:50:12, 0:50:17]: DDA training um in Savannah a couple of months ago and um [0:50:17, 0:50:27]: As a result of that, I've gotten on their mailing list. And that's how I essentially learned about the Georgia Downtown Association, um, you know, all the information. [0:50:27, 0:50:33]: What really piqued my interest is that they offer an opportunity for mentorship where they pair new [0:50:33, 0:50:39]: Um newer in more less inexperienced DDA members with more experienced DDA members. [0:50:39, 0:50:40]: Um [0:50:40, 0:50:40]: And [0:50:41, 0:50:54]: In order to be able to participate in the mentorship program, you had to be a member of the organization. So I was very much so interested because one of the things that I truly the information was wonderful, the training was great. [0:50:55, 0:51:13]: But what was really what really had the most impact to me when I went to the training was sitting with other DDA members who were sharing their experience, were sharing things that they've learned, mistakes they've made, successes they've had. And so I just wanted, I thought, if nothing else. [0:51:14, 0:51:25]: there be value in being a member of an organization where you have access to peers who are pretty much doing the things that we desire to do in our community. [0:51:25, 0:51:34]: So if the membership cost is$200 as an individual or as a board,$500. And I think you get up to six members, I wanna say. [0:51:35, 0:51:35]: Um [0:51:35, 0:51:54]: For the$500. So to me, it was a no-brainer either, you know, pay for one member, one board member to join, or pay for all of us so we can all have that access to date to that to those relationships. Um, um, going on a limb here and saying I think that they probably also have resources and tools and things that we could use. I have not um [0:51:55, 0:52:15]: I haven't done a deep dive into those things yet, but I'm pretty sure that they exist. Um, Renee, I think she's the director. She's extremely responsive. Um, and so far I've I've had with the people I've had communication with, you know, whether it's Jeff who runs the mentorship program or Renee who's I think she's the director, not sure. Um, everyone's extremely, you know. [0:52:15, 0:52:22]: uh responsive and just all seem like they want everyone to do well, you know, in their respective positions. So [0:52:22, 0:52:26]: My recommendation is that we do join as a board. I'm joining as [0:52:26, 0:52:27]: Regardless. [0:52:28, 0:52:40]: But I I would love for all of us to be um on you know in that organization and take advantage um because the more we can become you know empowered and the more relationships we build and [0:52:40, 0:52:45]: You know, the more information we can obtain, the the better, you know, we could serve our city. [0:52:46, 0:52:47]: Here in Stockbridge. So [0:52:47, 0:52:53]: That's my recommendation. Um, I don't have any other details beyond that, but if you have questions, I'll try to. [0:52:53, 0:52:55]: Answer them. Kira may have. [0:52:56, 0:52:58]: A lot more information than me. [0:52:58, 0:53:05]: Um, I was just gonna say that um I agree the Georgia Downtown Association is a great [0:53:05, 0:53:10]: organization to be a part of. The Main Street program does have a membership. [0:53:10, 0:53:14]: And um all of the trainings that are available. [0:53:14, 0:53:22]: Um, as Barber said, are very enriching and um gives you an opportunity, especially when you do the in-person. [0:53:22, 0:53:25]: Classes gives you the opportunity [0:53:25, 0:53:27]: To actually sit at the table. [0:53:27, 0:53:28]: Uh [0:53:28, 0:53:35]: be at the room in the room when it happens, so to speak, when you hear about all of these different projects and how they went about. [0:53:36, 0:53:38]: Making these projects happen. [0:53:38, 0:53:39]: Um [0:53:39, 0:53:46]: I strongly recommend it and I strongly recommend going to the trainings and the different conferences. Like for example, this Georgia downtown. [0:53:47, 0:53:50]: association conference that's about to happen next week. [0:53:50, 0:53:53]: Would be an excellent opportunity for [0:53:53, 0:54:00]: um DDA members to go and learn and and be amongst our people, so to speak. Um [0:54:00, 0:54:01]: It's in making [0:54:01, 0:54:03]: This um session. [0:54:04, 0:54:10]: And um it travels all over the state. And we've had several Main Street Advisory Board members attend. [0:54:11, 0:54:14]: And all of them have felt um [0:54:14, 0:54:18]: I guess, like I said, enriched by the experience and they learn. [0:54:19, 0:54:20]: Something every time they go. [0:54:21, 0:54:28]: And there are trainings throughout the year. Um, like for example, there's a grant writing session that's about to come up. [0:54:28, 0:54:32]: Uh where you can go and learn about grant writing and what [0:54:33, 0:54:36]: types of things need to be in successful grants. [0:54:36, 0:54:42]: That's something that, you know, I announced um to our group and because we have a membership, they have access to. [0:54:43, 0:54:44]: So it's something that um [0:54:45, 0:54:47]: You should definitely consider. [0:54:47, 0:54:53]: And um there's also Georgia Association of Economic Developers. That or [0:54:53, 0:54:55]: [3295.6, 3297.8]: organization that has um [0:54:58, 0:55:01]: very rich depth of training and [0:55:01, 0:55:03]: contacts and [0:55:03, 0:55:04]: network and [0:55:05, 0:55:09]: You know, Main Street and Main Street staff are a part of that organization as well. [0:55:09, 0:55:10]: So [0:55:11, 0:55:17]: I would second your recommendation because I think that it is very important. [0:55:17, 0:55:18]: To be [0:55:19, 0:55:26]: Um, amongst the people who are doing this type of work. And as a young DDA, and you know, you all are just starting out. [0:55:27, 0:55:30]: learning this these um different um [0:55:30, 0:55:36]: skill sets is very important for you all to have peers and mentors and people who [0:55:36, 0:55:38]: are already doing it. [0:55:38, 0:55:40]: be able to give you [0:55:40, 0:55:43]: Some guidance and it's not a situation where [0:55:43, 0:55:44]: Um [0:55:44, 0:55:51]: You you know, as um Barber was saying, they have a mentor pro mentorship program that allows for you to [0:55:51, 0:55:55]: kind of go and see what people are doing in their own communities and [0:55:56, 0:55:57]: Um it [0:55:58, 0:56:03]: It's just very beneficial. I won't beat a dead horse. Um, it's very beneficial. [0:56:04, 0:56:08]: I'll be at the time uh in making. I don't know. Okay. [0:56:08, 0:56:28]: I I believe Ms. Merritt will be there as well. I put in the chat the uh mentorship program online links for those who want to read more information. But um so I think we have uh a motion on the table to uh join as a board for the uh mentorship pro is it specifically for the mentorship program or is it to become a member of the uh [0:56:28, 0:56:36]: Georgia DD Downtown Association itself. To become a member of the association. [0:56:37, 0:56:42]: programs within the association. Good, good. All right. So do we have a second for that? [0:56:44, 0:56:47]: All right. Thanks, Bob. Any other discussion or comments? [0:56:48, 0:57:03]: All right, all those in favor of joining the downtown uh association, um, Georgia Downtown Associ Association, uh as a board, as a DDA board. All right, I think that's you uh Mr. Sears, are you in favor? [0:57:05, 0:57:08]: I don't see a response from Mr. Sears. [0:57:10, 0:57:22]: All right. So I guess we'll record that as an abstain. Okay. All right. But I think I think we have a unanimous vote. So uh that's that. It sounds like the motion passed. [0:57:22, 0:57:32]: Thank you. Um if I might, just on that item, I just wanted to let um uh Miss Richardson know that Renee is the program coordinator. Oh, okay. Yes. [0:57:34, 0:57:36]: And I'll reach out to her uh [0:57:36, 0:57:45]: Now that we have the vote and uh get the board signed up as a member. Okay. And that's Renee Coakley, if you need that for. [0:57:46, 0:57:48]: I feel like I get an email from her every day. [0:57:49, 0:57:51]: Yeah, she's very responsive. [0:57:53, 0:58:00]: Stays on it. All right. Let's um anything else, uh Barber. I think we covered the items on your on the financial. [0:58:00, 0:58:04]: Oh yes, there was there was one more thing. Um [0:58:04, 0:58:24]: Ms. Holliday did forward us the information regarding renewal of our insurance. I am in the process. I don't know what that quote is yet, but I have reached out to our carrier and um waiting on a call back from them regarding underwriting or whatever their the next steps that they need to do. Um so I will have an update probably via email. [0:58:24, 0:58:28]: email before we have our next meeting because I am expecting to hear from her uh this week. [0:58:29, 0:58:49]: But yeah, that is outstanding. But I just don't have a a quote for what that premium is going to look like right now. All right. That thank you for coming back to that. I did mention that at the top of the meeting and n said that you had followed up and thanked you for following up with them to get that uh r renewed, if you will, and um and that I had responded. [0:58:49, 0:58:52]: to the question about whether or not we had any claims. [0:58:52, 0:58:52]: Okay. [0:58:53, 0:59:08]: All right. Um, but the and and I know you had sent the June financial report earlier, but I think, you know, with the July report, did you is there anything you wanted to mention about the June financial report? I I'm not sure there's anything more beyond what was um the July report. [0:59:08, 0:59:10]: Yeah, Jill was just uh [0:59:11, 0:59:13]: I think June was just [0:59:13, 0:59:14]: Zo [0:59:15, 0:59:35]: The$40 zoom fee. And is that coming out of the um the checking account finally? Yes. Finally it is. It's fixed. Thank you for your work on that. I know that took several attempts. All right. We will move on to the next item on our agenda. So that brings us to um city staff updates. [0:59:35, 0:59:41]: Mr. Peterson's not with us. Um and Kira, I think you gave a very thorough update. Is there anything else you want to add to that? [0:59:42, 0:59:43]: No, that was about it. [0:59:43, 0:59:49]: All right. And so that brings us to item G, City Council updates. Councilman, is there anything more you want to share with the group? [0:59:50, 0:59:59]: Yes, uh as I shared earlier, the activity there's a lot of interest in downtown. The council has a lot to consider, so does um [0:59:59, 1:00:02]: Uh so there's this DDA board. [1:00:03, 1:00:14]: excuse me, uh at the you know where the city is having informational meetings uh in terms of what we're doing uh with the annexation. The city cannot take an official position. [1:00:15, 1:00:19]: But we do want to provide accurate information to the public. [1:00:19, 1:00:25]: on the benefits of actually joining the city if they so desire. [1:00:25, 1:00:28]: Uh one of the things that came out of the meeting. [1:00:28, 1:00:47]: was there is a boutique hotel looking at downtown Stockbridge. So Mr. Gardner made that announcement uh last night to the crowd. Wasn't a lot of specifics in terms of uh what was going to happen, but those meetings, I spoke with him today, those meetings are ongoing. [1:00:47, 1:00:51]: And uh in terms of location and all of that, which will [1:00:51, 1:01:11]: come out at a later point. But since he already shared it publicly, then, you know, it's not like it's a secret. So apparently there's uh some talks going on and there are some very serious talks about this hotel locating in downtown. And what does the hotel want to be in downtown? People who come to the amphitheater actually need a place to stay. [1:01:11, 1:01:17]: right if the artist comes in they don't need to have this you know they want to be very convenient to where they are [1:01:17, 1:01:19]: And then um [1:01:19, 1:01:25]: You know, we as the downtown grows, then we certainly want to be uh in a position to [1:01:25, 1:01:27]: Add those accommodations. [1:01:27, 1:01:30]: uh as well there are some potential [1:01:31, 1:01:32]: Резиденціл [1:01:32, 1:01:33]: Uh [1:01:33, 1:01:34]: components coming. [1:01:35, 1:01:40]: uh that fit in with the RSVP plan, which would be um [1:01:40, 1:01:50]: residential over retail. So you know that's in the mix you form where you would have residential on top. [1:01:50, 1:01:52]: And then you would have uh mixed use. [1:01:52, 1:01:57]: uh on the bottom and that's in the RSV Pl VP plan and it matches up with [1:01:58, 1:02:00]: uh what we were trying uh to do. [1:02:00, 1:02:02]: uh on those uh particular [1:02:02, 1:02:05]: uh at those particular entities. [1:02:05, 1:02:07]: Uh or those particular [1:02:07, 1:02:11]: uh goals and endeavors for the city to fulfill [1:02:11, 1:02:18]: uh the RSVP plan. So things are moving along as far as those are concerned. Those are very exciting. [1:02:19, 1:02:22]: announcements. There's also some activity involving. [1:02:23, 1:02:25]: Uh the Cultural Arts Center. There was some [1:02:25, 1:02:29]: uh discussions about whether the funding would be available. [1:02:29, 1:02:31]: Uh for the Cultural Arts Center. [1:02:31, 1:02:32]: It looks like [1:02:33, 1:02:50]: The funding is gonna be available sooner rather than later. And the details again on that will be released from the city manager's office. But it looks as though we might we we will probably be able to uh move that project forward. [1:02:51, 1:02:52]: uh creating the second [1:02:53, 1:02:58]: Uh as Councilman Mayor Pro Tem likes to call them, the twin towers. You got the amphitheater on one side. [1:02:58, 1:03:03]: And then you got the cultural arts center uh on the other side, anchoring the city. And I told him [1:03:04, 1:03:05]: We probably need to change that too. [1:03:06, 1:03:11]: The triple towers with the stem school coming in or the or the tri towers, uh [1:03:12, 1:03:13]: Вот і Стимську. [1:03:13, 1:03:25]: uh actually coming in. This the school board is actually moving through their processes in order to move the project along. They uh I was talking to board member Annette Edwards and she said [1:03:26, 1:03:29]: That they expect to uh actually start um [1:03:30, 1:03:34]: Uh with some uh infrastructure work and that thing the latter part. [1:03:34, 1:03:46]: Of twenty twenty three. So it's not that far off. And they plan on having the school open for the 2026 year. So they're planning on moving forward pretty quickly. And again, that's a 45. [1:03:46, 1:03:48]: million dollar project. [1:03:48, 1:03:51]: It will be a three level um [1:03:52, 1:04:01]: Pro which is projected to be the finest educational institute institution in the state of Georgia with advanced robotics equipment. [1:04:02, 1:04:11]: uh engineering, math, science, technology, all the equipment, all the expertise that is necessary uh to equip our students. [1:04:11, 1:04:15]: uh to be the very best that we possibly can be to compete. [1:04:15, 1:04:25]: You know, that's one thing that's um Stockbridge is really taking a hit on, which is the schools in the area aren't the high as highly rated as they should be. [1:04:25, 1:04:27]: Course we have Dutch town. [1:04:27, 1:04:30]: And then uh you know on the southern end of town we have [1:04:30, 1:04:32]: Uh Eagles Landing uh high. [1:04:33, 1:04:41]: Which uh has some of the best advanced classes in the world. It's just their rating hasn't been the best because of the overall student population. But [1:04:41, 1:04:44]: That school has recently taken a bump up in terms of [1:04:44, 1:04:45]: Oh, the overall [1:04:46, 1:04:47]: rating. So [1:04:47, 1:04:49]: Uh, for that particular area. But [1:04:49, 1:04:51]: What'll happen is with the [1:04:51, 1:04:54]: STEM school being downtown, it'll take some of the pressure off of [1:04:54, 1:04:56]: Dutch town and then [1:04:56, 1:05:09]: As you may not know, we do Union Grove. Some of our students actually go to Union Grove, uh the area off of Brennan Road over there. We have several subdivisions uh uh west of Highway 42. [1:05:09, 1:05:13]: If you're west of highway forty two, you go to the Union Girl School system. Not many people [1:05:13, 1:05:17]: know that, but that area around Brandon Road, which is Clark Meadows subdivision. [1:05:18, 1:05:19]: Moss point subdivision. [1:05:20, 1:05:31]: uh lakeside those uh individuals are entitled to go to uh union growth which is west of uh west of 42 so understanding that the education is important [1:05:31, 1:05:34]: In uh what we're doing and our overall advancement. [1:05:35, 1:05:36]: uh of downtown. [1:05:36, 1:05:37]: But [1:05:37, 1:05:44]: Uh trust and believe at every stages, uh what we're doing is uh trying to make sure that it fits in with the overall. [1:05:45, 1:06:01]: goals for where uh we want to go uh with the city, supporting uh where the RSVP plan uh is uh in its in its in totality. And and and as I said, I always encourage every last one of us is an economic development person. All of us are. [1:06:02, 1:06:06]: If you got a friend, you got a f you know that's in the business. [1:06:06, 1:06:10]: They're looking to open up a restaurant or they already have a restaurant. [1:06:11, 1:06:15]: They when you when you tell them about this unique opportunity. [1:06:15, 1:06:20]: Then if they're a business person and they see four or five thousand customers in the area. [1:06:20, 1:06:23]: On a given time on a consistent basis, then guess what? [1:06:24, 1:06:27]: They're gonna be interested in moving to downtown Stockbridge. [1:06:27, 1:06:29]: It's an excellent opportunity for them to [1:06:30, 1:06:34]: grow their business. So again, like I said, I had a friend today [1:06:34, 1:06:54]: Who sent me someone that uh they wanted to connect who were actually looking at uh another restaurant. And we don't just need one restaurant, we would like to have multiple restaurants downtown, a bookstore, coffee shop spaces where we can gather uh and just have create uh [1:06:54, 1:07:14]: foot traffic downtown, not necessarily uh office space, but those spaces where folks would gather. And then, you know, uh like in when downtown Duluth, they have uh performance uh theater where they have the different acts come and they do put on the plays and they have um and then they have acts [1:07:14, 1:07:20]: actually have uh con a small concert venue down there on on this on the [1:07:20, 1:07:23]: Uh in their downtown area as well. So [1:07:23, 1:07:24]: All of those things are [1:07:24, 1:07:27]: are coming together and understand this. [1:07:28, 1:07:28]: Okay. [1:07:29, 1:07:33]: We have to think, and if you look at uh [1:07:34, 1:07:36]: The comprehensive plan for the city. [1:07:36, 1:07:39]: Okay, we have to think in terms of [1:07:39, 1:07:43]: We just can't think of residential as single family homes. [1:07:43, 1:07:46]: There's gonna be town homes that are being built. [1:07:47, 1:07:50]: Okay, there's going to be apartments that are gonna be built. [1:07:50, 1:07:51]: There's going to be [1:07:51, 1:07:54]: uh condominiums that are going to be built. [1:07:55, 1:07:56]: In the area because [1:07:56, 1:08:01]: There one of the things that was that what came back in the comprehensive plan was that there needed to be [1:08:02, 1:08:04]: And the more diverse housing stock. [1:08:04, 1:08:06]: 'Cause as a realtor I can tell you. [1:08:07, 1:08:11]: That the number one request that I get is for a high quality town home. [1:08:12, 1:08:12]: The [1:08:13, 1:08:17]: just does not exist in the footprint of what we have currently in Henry County. [1:08:17, 1:08:20]: Биз агваліті таун. [1:08:20, 1:08:22]: There's no difference between it. [1:08:23, 1:08:32]: And a single-family home, especially the size. You can build town homes 2,500 square feet, 2200 square feet, 3,000 square feet. [1:08:32, 1:08:38]: The only difference between a quality town home and a single family home is the yard. That's it. [1:08:39, 1:08:45]: If they're built on the same plane, what we've been getting here in Henry County is people that build cheap townhomes. [1:08:46, 1:08:48]: That don't want to put much into them. [1:08:48, 1:08:51]: And then they come out and then they end up being [1:08:51, 1:08:54]: Uh less they're desirable. They don't hold up well. [1:08:55, 1:09:15]: And then they lower property values. The townhomes that they built over here near my house, uh, the Winding Creek townhomes, those townhomes actually increased our property value because they were well built. They were brick constructed uh on their exterior. They had nice interior trim finishes, and that way they actually bought. [1:09:14, 1:09:26]: bumped up the the the uh prices in our area, which the same thing will happen to downtown if we're able to uh bring in uh a different type of housing stock. [1:09:26, 1:09:40]: And think about it, you know, that if it's residential over retail, that could be condominiums, that could be town, that could be apartments, it could be different things. But right now that's yet to be determined. But there's gonna be some [1:09:40, 1:09:43]: Uh there'll be some diverse housing stock. [1:09:43, 1:09:45]: In whatever we decide to do. [1:09:45, 1:09:48]: Uh in terms of moving downtown because [1:09:49, 1:09:51]: In order to have a really successful downtown [1:09:52, 1:09:53]: You gotta have people that live there. [1:09:54, 1:09:57]: And to think about it, we really haven't had any. [1:09:57, 1:10:02]: New residential in downtown in a long period of time, I believe. [1:10:02, 1:10:04]: Possibly McCain Creek. [1:10:05, 1:10:15]: uh was the last subdivision which is right down by uh Stockbridge First United Methodist. That was the last residential subdivision that is even near. [1:10:16, 1:10:18]: uh downtown zone. [1:10:18, 1:10:18]: Um [1:10:19, 1:10:21]: Those are something those are the things that we need to consider. [1:10:22, 1:10:25]: Uh when we're looking at it and we need to keep an open mind. [1:10:25, 1:10:28]: Because I'm trying to keep an open mind because in the end [1:10:28, 1:10:33]: It's about the quality of any project anybody brings to me. [1:10:33, 1:10:36]: If it's a cheap project, even if it's a single family home. [1:10:36, 1:10:43]: or or a townhome, it's got to be quality. And as long as we maintain quality, we're gonna be fine. [1:10:44, 1:10:45]: Thank you. [1:10:45, 1:10:48]: Thank you, Councilman. Any questions for councilman? [1:10:49, 1:10:50]: Yes. [1:10:51, 1:10:52]: I feel like I always have a question about it. [1:10:53, 1:11:02]: Um, where I'm trying to visualize um where some of these developments will take place, the residential over retail or [1:11:02, 1:11:03]: Um [1:11:03, 1:11:09]: If you look at the RSVP plan, the residential over retail is actually along Burke Street. [1:11:10, 1:11:14]: Okay. If you well you there's the video the video is actually available. [1:11:14, 1:11:16]: uh online kira are you online [1:11:17, 1:11:17]: Can you hear us? [1:11:22, 1:11:23]: Pure, are you there? [1:11:25, 1:11:26]: Yeah, yeah. [1:11:26, 1:11:30]: Yeah, she's not. But there's actually a video office one second. [1:11:31, 1:11:33]: There's a video online. [1:11:33, 1:11:37]: that uh actually shows what the RSVP light. [1:11:37, 1:11:42]: looks like because when you come over the hill and you see the pedestrian bridge and you go down the hill. [1:11:43, 1:11:44]: And you take a right. [1:11:44, 1:11:46]: That's what it's supposed to look like. [1:11:47, 1:11:49]: It'll be residential over the retail. [1:11:49, 1:11:51]: Going down Burke Street. [1:11:51, 1:11:54]: Uh headed toward Love Street and then making a right. [1:11:55, 1:11:59]: I was asking a question. She had uh Miss Richardson ask a question about [1:11:59, 1:12:00]: Uh [1:12:00, 1:12:04]: The r the residential over the retail, and I was telling her that. [1:12:04, 1:12:07]: component was actually included in the RSVP plan. [1:12:07, 1:12:11]: And there's a video on o of that, correct, online. [1:12:11, 1:12:14]: I've got to do that. [1:12:15, 1:12:23]: I've got it a link to the flyover and there's a link to the RSVP. I can send that to Barber. [1:12:23, 1:12:24]: I I've put that in the chat. [1:12:25, 1:12:27]: Oh okay, you did. Okay, thanks. [1:12:27, 1:12:29]: Okay, so you so you go ahead. [1:12:30, 1:12:34]: Oh sorry I'm sorry, y'all. Let me know if if I'm no longer on on agenda. [1:12:34, 1:12:35]: Um [1:12:36, 1:12:50]: Cause I've been thinking a lot about, you know, some of the call to actions that you've you've made to the board regarding, you know, hey, if you know someone interested in restaurant, et cetera, et cetera, talk to them, invite them into the city. And I'm definitely a hundred percent on board for that. [1:12:51, 1:12:53]: Mm-hmm. My c my question is [1:12:54, 1:12:56]: you know, to help me is [1:12:57, 1:12:57]: I don't [1:12:58, 1:13:12]: If I just may be honest, I'm not even clear on what I have to offer. So like say for example, I do have a restaurant owner, right? And I'm like, okay, yeah, come to Stockbridge. And I'm like, I don't even know where they would go. [1:13:12, 1:13:17]: to open this restaurant. You know what I mean? I don't know what properties belong to the city. I don't know [1:13:18, 1:13:19]: I don't know. [1:13:20, 1:13:28]: Okay. My my answer to that is and again that's where the gap with Mr. Peterson comes in at because that was his job, but that's also [1:13:28, 1:13:31]: where Main Street comes in at to let you know what [1:13:32, 1:13:34]: uh opportunities are available. [1:13:34, 1:13:41]: Uh, in terms of the overall picture and what we're supposed to do, which can you speak to that a little bit based on the staff side, Kira? [1:13:44, 1:13:45]: You're mute. [1:13:49, 1:13:54]: Um, yes, we um basically are telling people [1:13:54, 1:13:55]: That um [1:13:56, 1:13:56]: We have [1:13:57, 1:14:01]: You know, different opportunities in the downtown with regard to [1:14:01, 1:14:06]: Um one fourteen and then we also let them know about the properties that are [1:14:06, 1:14:08]: Privately owned as well. [1:14:08, 1:14:09]: Um [1:14:09, 1:14:12]: Right now because we don't have a lot of [1:14:13, 1:14:15]: Inventory in the downtown. [1:14:15, 1:14:20]: We can't necessarily say, Hey, you can go into this space, but we can put them in contact. [1:14:20, 1:14:23]: With the property owner, which I have done. [1:14:23, 1:14:25]: In several um instances. [1:14:25, 1:14:31]: To let them know that that space is available and that they can approach that particular um [1:14:31, 1:14:34]: representative, uh, whether it's a real estate agent, [1:14:35, 1:14:43]: or the actual property owner with regard to whether or not they're interested in leasing or even selling to that particular interested party. [1:14:43, 1:14:44]: Okay. [1:14:44, 1:15:04]: Absolutely. And as you should know, uh one 118 Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Senior Heritage has sold. There's a new owner. Uh Mr. Sil Sylvan Sylvan is the owner of the building. He plans on making that space available uh from for lease. Uh [1:15:04, 1:15:24]: According to him, he planned on making some renovations inside. But the building is in great physical shape. He's just putting it together in terms of making sure that uh uh it's ready for a public offering. But that business will be available as well. Cause the previous owner really wasn't interested in trying to do anything with. [1:15:24, 1:15:44]: It all they were trying to do was move on. So at this point, we have a very interested party in bringing in and offering a unique space, and it is a very unique space. Now we wouldn't be able to work out the deal between Mrs. Sylvan and them, but we certainly could uh let them know that that property was available if they chose to reach out to the process. [1:15:44, 1:15:45]: out to him. [1:15:46, 1:16:00]: uh in terms of pursuing something. You know, just driving through the downtown myself, you know, uh I see properties that are available. The old jewelry shop, which is across the street, that building is available. [1:16:00, 1:16:03]: uh for for uh for uh for sale right now. [1:16:04, 1:16:24]: Uh you know, you drive down the street, you see the car wash uh is available and open for service. Would somebody want to operate a car wash? Maybe, maybe not. But if they wanted to build a business, it would be a great location with frontage along Highway 138 to if they even wanted to demolish the car wash and [1:16:24, 1:16:31]: Build another entity there, that would be a great space to build a restaurant. From my standpoint, in terms of [1:16:32, 1:16:36]: where we're trying to go right now. And when I talk to people, this is what I'm seeing. [1:16:36, 1:16:38]: Mm-hmm. Get in now. [1:16:38, 1:16:41]: Because there's opportunity available. [1:16:41, 1:16:48]: with the amphitheater, which is right across the street. You have these concerts going on, four or five thousand people. [1:16:48, 1:16:52]: Before the show and after the show, they really have nothing to do. [1:16:52, 1:16:56]: So if you even if you had a coffee shop or a bookstore. [1:16:57, 1:17:10]: or a retail store, these opportunities are available for you. And that's when I would talk about 114 being available. I would talk about uh 118 uh uh being available I would talk about [1:17:10, 1:17:12]: Uh you know, down in the [1:17:13, 1:17:17]: uh which is not in the historic downtown but in a plaza over by [1:17:17, 1:17:18]: Um [1:17:18, 1:17:21]: The subway shop. There's available space in there. [1:17:21, 1:17:26]: So don't just think about it in terms of Martin Luther King Senior Heritage, think about it. [1:17:26, 1:17:28]: In the totality [1:17:28, 1:17:45]: of the entire downtown district, which is again over there by the subway plaza and even down to where the Publix is. There's available space down there in the Publix. As a matter of fact, I can't even think of the entity. Miss Holiday, you know it is, there's a very there's a very nice [1:17:45, 1:17:47]: Uh ice cream shop. [1:17:47, 1:17:51]: That's gonna open up down uh next to public. We have a ribbon cutting. [1:17:51, 1:17:57]: It was supposed to be available uh finished by the end of the month. Do you know what it is? I'm sorry, I don't know the name of it. [1:17:57, 1:18:00]: There's a Domino's pizza that's opening there. [1:18:00, 1:18:04]: No, but there the it's not a dominoes. It's a very nice [1:18:04, 1:18:24]: Ice cream shop with I think this ice cream they serve ice creams and dessert in the shop, but it's it is a well-known business that operates uh uh not just here. It's not a local, it is uh a business that uh it's a very nice business, in other words, they're well financed, they're doing the construction, uh, they're doing the reef. [1:18:24, 1:18:37]: rehab uh the the construction inside the building, working with the planning is on it. I'll get the name of that uh business for you to be able to pass it along. So there's lots of opportunity and being in the midst of that opportunity. [1:18:38, 1:18:40]: The longer anybody waits [1:18:40, 1:18:42]: The higher the price is going to be. [1:18:42, 1:18:49]: because when the major investors come in and scoop all the property, all the available opportunities up. [1:18:49, 1:18:58]: They're gone. They're not coming back again. And then they're certainly not gonna make it easy for people to come in and purchase. They would probably ha end up having to [1:18:58, 1:19:06]: Lease from these uh different individuals. And as Mr. Peterson said before he left, we're working on opportunities on tax credit. So [1:19:07, 1:19:14]: If you're a business person, even if you don't have them initially when you come in, if you come in a downtown [1:19:14, 1:19:16]: Hopefully a year from now. [1:19:16, 1:19:23]: We would be every time you hire an additional person, you get a thirty five hundred dollar tax credit. [1:19:23, 1:19:43]: For that particular year, you hire 10 employees. Let's say you open a business and you brought 10 jobs to downtown. In an opportunity zone, you get$35,000 tax check every year for five years to help support your business. Imagine what that could do. See, what happens is when that happens and we get [1:19:43, 1:20:00]: that designation we'll have to fight the businesses off because that's what they look for to come into an area in order to operate uh successfully. But the opportunities with us again are the amphitheater. And then from my side as a realtor, you're looking at the total [1:20:00, 1:20:12]: um traffic counts. Highway 138 and North Enra Boulevard has some of the highest traffic counts in all of South Metro Atlanta. So those are those are the opportunities, excuse me. And [1:20:12, 1:20:17]: the the things that local business owners are looking for. They're looking for foot traffic. [1:20:17, 1:20:23]: And they're looking for the car counts along the roads. And there's nothing more. There's no road. [1:20:23, 1:20:26]: more than Highway one thirty eight that brings that [1:20:26, 1:20:40]: uh vehicular traffic to them, we're working on the um the pedestrian side in order to give them opportunities to get out of the car. But in terms of visibility and everything, like I said, that spot over there where the car wash is. [1:20:41, 1:20:53]: That that that that is truly a great location for anybody to come in and redevelop their physic their particular uh opportunity. There are limited opportunities available for [1:20:53, 1:20:55]: uh business owners who want to just come in. [1:20:56, 1:20:57]: And be a lessee. [1:20:57, 1:21:02]: Those opportunities are limited, but as things move along. [1:21:02, 1:21:07]: in the next year or two there will be some rental space available, whether that be [1:21:08, 1:21:10]: Uh through the private sector or through the city. [1:21:11, 1:21:13]: Uh what they call that a anchor building. [1:21:13, 1:21:27]: uh anchor building would be built in downtown w for to creating some of the space that we need to bring in some of these entities, whether we build it as a city or whether the private investor will build it. So we're just at the beginning. [1:21:27, 1:21:30]: Um offering what we can offer. But right now we're offering [1:21:30, 1:21:31]: One eighteen. [1:21:31, 1:21:33]: A one fourteen. [1:21:33, 1:21:53]: Preferring them to one eighteen, the jury shop, which is across the street, uh over by the subway plaza, over there uh in that plaza, and then near the uh down by the public. That's that's the top of my mind. Yeah. Thank thank you, Councilman. Uh I'm gonna need to move on with the agenda because we've got several more items that we need to cover and I do try. [1:21:53, 1:22:03]: try to keep this meeting okay clear closed close to seven thirty. Uh but uh so under new business we have a couple of approvals that I'm asked the boards uh [1:22:03, 1:22:11]: uh consideration for uh let me bring up uh the first one uh I think I can share my screen here. [1:22:12, 1:22:32]: So I want to, you know, introduce this first with the the idea that this came out of the tourism development um committee, which I lead, which uh is most of you know, who participated in last June's strategic planning meeting, which was a joint session between the Main Street Advisory Board. [1:22:32, 1:22:32]: Board. [1:22:32, 1:22:35]: um the uh DDA and uh [1:22:35, 1:22:53]: uh city council and city staff. Um it was an extremely productive uh meeting. It was an all-day session. Uh and out of that came some strategic objectives that uh the council uh signed off on. I think there was a later session where the council approved the um the um [1:22:53, 1:23:13]: The initiative to follow up on these strategic objectives. Among the strategic objectives was to set up four committees. Kira referenced one of them earlier, the downtown beautification committee and the work that's being done under that. I've been leading the tourism development committee, and the primary focus for the tourism [1:23:13, 1:23:18]: Development committee is long-range planning for an MLK senior memorial. [1:23:19, 1:23:22]: Um, so we're at the stage now where we're doing two things. [1:23:23, 1:23:43]: We've identified the uh potential site locations that would be under consideration. Um, and you know, these are for city council decisions that need to be made. Um, the committee is serving more as uh kind of advisory and helping to shape the uh the initiative. Um, so that the the list, the short list. [1:23:42, 1:23:49]: of potential sites has been uh developed, but we recognize that with uh such a um [1:23:49, 1:23:57]: Such a highly well publicly known um figure such as uh Martin Luther King, Martin Luther King Sr. [1:23:57, 1:24:17]: Um, that we wanted to be careful how we approach this to make sure that we're uh well prepared to manage um the communic the public communications that might uh transpire to make sure that we give the appropriate consideration to honor MLK Sr. Um in the scale of which this uh this [1:24:17, 1:24:37]: Person who uh really is a civil rights leader, um, uh they know, make sure that it's met with that sense of scale. So, what I'm presenting to you here now is a um a proposal from uh Ellen Parker. She's an arts consultant. She worked uh previously with the city of San Francisco, she now works for [1:24:37, 1:24:57]: Or uh she doesn't work directly. She consults with the city of Richmond. Kira and Lisa met them at a conference that they a national conference that they attended in Richmond a couple of months ago and put uh me in contact with uh Ellen Parker. Um she helped lead, among many other projects that she's worked on, she helped lead um the [1:24:57, 1:25:17]: um uh the uh development of a of a of a similar statue uh or statue similar to what we're considering for uh mlk senior in the city of rim honoring uh a lady named mark mark maggie uh walker um she was um a local leader uh entrepreneur [1:25:17, 1:25:17]: You're [1:25:18, 1:25:38]: and um very much uh loved and respected uh individual in that community. And uh there's actually a video I shared with you all that kind of goes through the um some of the struggles that that uh group uh planned and managed to get through to get the uh statue ultimately built. Uh it's ultimate it's very well received. [1:25:37, 1:25:48]: So, all that's just a bit of background information as to why I'm bringing this to the DDA's attention. So, what we're proposing here is that the DDA consider [1:25:49, 1:25:50]: Um [1:25:50, 1:26:10]: bringing in Ellen as an arts consultant to help develop an in uh a plan to present to the city council for consideration to proceed with the M OK Memorial Statue. So um and part of what she would provide in terms of scope of [1:26:10, 1:26:23]: work is you know uh some direction as far as governance and strategy, you know, the uh for the for a project of this scale, you need a steering committee to help make decisions on the art selection process. [1:26:24, 1:26:27]: Make sure that the stakeholders are all appropriately informed. [1:26:27, 1:26:47]: You need some information on budget and find and funding, um, best practices in terms of public art. Um, this is a relatively new initiative for the city of Stockbridge. We really don't really have a public art program. And we feel like to do it right, we really need some direction as far as from somebody who's done this elsewhere. And as I mentioned in [1:26:47, 1:27:02]: some of the large scale cities that she's worked with. And um so really the the the what we're asking for here is a um a pro a project to develop a plan to present to the city of Stockbridge City Council. [1:27:02, 1:27:08]: And the plan itself, um, the charge for her services would be roughly about 40 to 50 hours. [1:27:08, 1:27:23]: not to exceed$3,000. I think this is an appropriate thing to ask the DDA in terms of economic development to help provide if I would consider this more like a seed money to help get this project initiated. [1:27:23, 1:27:41]: And uh so I would like to make a motion uh to the board that we um approve this proposal um for an amount of not to exceed$3,000 for uh to develop a plan for an MLK senior memorial. And I'd like to take any questions or comments from the uh from the board. [1:27:42, 1:27:43]: Uh second. [1:27:44, 1:27:46]: Thank you, Bob. Appreciate that. [1:27:46, 1:27:53]: I I do have a I do have a question. Uh I I I'm assuming Miss Parker would be um working with the King family. [1:27:54, 1:28:14]: Great question. Um the the the the stage that this that we're proposing here for this proposal is really to just to develop a plan around that. So yes, and and it in fact she and I spoke, I've met with her a couple of times. I I spoke about how we need stakeholder engagement, not just with the King family. [1:28:14, 1:28:24]: I think we need to obviously engage uh the local church community, uh specifically Floyd Chapel, which is you know still in operation, and that's where um M OK Senior. [1:28:24, 1:28:40]: um, you know, was first uh first preached. And so um, you know, I it's really developing a plan around how we approach all of that. So it's it it's that may come as that will likely come as a later step if the city council approves moving forward. [1:28:41, 1:28:45]: Did I answer your question? Yes, sir. Yes. Thanks. All right. [1:28:46, 1:29:06]: Uh is Kira is Kira still on the call or no? She s she messaged me and said that she had to go, but to email her if we had any questions. She, by the way, uh either Ciura uh Ciura and Lisa both met with me and Ellen Parker in our first meeting. That's when we did the introductions, and then we had a follow-up meeting and Lisa attended. [1:29:06, 1:29:18]: So they the Main Street's been in every meeting I've been in with Ellen and they've been part of this um part of this every step getting it to this point. Okay. [1:29:20, 1:29:21]: Other questions? [1:29:24, 1:29:27]: All right. Um go go ahead, Barber. If if this um [1:29:28, 1:29:33]: If this project passes, is this the cost that the city council then incurs or is that [1:29:33, 1:29:35]: The D D A or or the Main Street. [1:29:36, 1:29:56]: I'm proposing the DDA fund the three you're you're saying the ultimate the the obviously we're not going to build an MLK memorial statue for 3,000. So uh this is really just I'm suggesting the DDA fund the plan, the the initial plan that we would that would give us kind of a an in-depth um analysis. [1:29:55, 1:30:15]: analysis that we can present to the city council for consideration for the actual art project, which is depending on the scale of what we're considering. And that's part of what she will give us information on is, you know, that could be anywhere from, you know, twenty thirty thousand all the way up to, you know, I mean, depends on, you know, the obviously the the memorials and [1:30:15, 1:30:22]: And Washington, DC, those are those are in the millions, of course. Um, so you know, we would need to figure out where [1:30:24, 1:30:32]: Where would we fit and what kind of project would um would align with different budget levels? [1:30:35, 1:30:37]: as a potential future cost to the D VA. [1:30:37, 1:30:57]: No, no. Oh, good. That's your question. Okay. Um, no, uh, and part of the things that well, uh it it may have some involvement. I that's not was my initial um expectation. Um, my expectation is that we would um present this to the city for consideration for funding with the idea and she [1:30:57, 1:31:03]: came up with several ideas how there can be um both grants and um [1:31:03, 1:31:23]: uh what do you call this matching funds for grants as well as um sort of public-private type of partnerships where you know you've seen a lot of these where you know you you sell a brick or you sell a bench and so forth and you get public funding for or you know uh community funding to help with the project and she [1:31:23, 1:31:40]: She has several ideas on on ways to go about that, which you know we think council would of course be very interested because funding is ultimately going to be the issue as far as what we can what the city can move forward with and and and and by how much. [1:31:43, 1:32:03]: Did did I answer your question? All right, great. Thanks. That's a good question. Any other questions or comments? All right. Well, let's go ahead and vote. Uh all those in favor of approving a not to exceed budget for$3,000 for our proposal, please uh raise your hand. Thank you. That's one, two, three, four. [1:32:03, 1:32:10]: Mr. Sears, I don't know uh if you if you heard that and I did not see your camera. I think um may have gotten turned off. [1:32:17, 1:32:27]: All right, and I'm not hearing you, Mr. Sears, so we'll we'll mark that as abstain. And uh I'll move on to the next proposal. Thank you, everyone. Appreciate your support. [1:32:28, 1:32:37]: Uh let me get that ready. The other one is a wrong uh regarding the logos. So let me get I'm sorry, I'm in the wrong folder. There we go. [1:32:40, 1:32:40]: Okay. [1:32:43, 1:32:45]: So um [1:32:48, 1:32:52]: Got this one and this one. All right. [1:32:53, 1:33:13]: In the last meeting, the board approved and I thank you for um a fund and and it included the amounts for logo development, which we got from the firm who did the original uh where community connects stockbridge logo. So the the firm is called uh Rhyme and Reason. Um they've obviously done great work with the city. [1:33:13, 1:33:20]: And we wanted to leverage that same logo for the DDA, specifically the new DDA name. [1:33:20, 1:33:40]: This proposal, I'm showing you the original scope of the proposal, which was, you know, she outlined um mod modifying the city's logo for the purpose of the DDA. The original scope was really just taking the original logo, which says stock bridge, and underneath the swipe it says where community connects. It was going to keep the word stock bridge and just repeat. [1:33:40, 1:34:00]: Replace where community connects with downtown development authority. It was a rather simple scope. And that's what this original uh quote was based on. We got approval for um in the last meeting, we got approval for um$2,900 for these first. [1:33:59, 1:34:03]: two scope items, which was the logo modification. [1:34:03, 1:34:23]: And business cards and letterhead modification. I followed up with the following the meeting, I followed up with the firm and said, you know, we've got uh the, you know, we're we're ready to go ahead. She clarified that since this DDA's name has changed, um, there's now really a longer DDA name. It's not. [1:34:23, 1:34:26]: Stockbridge Downtown Development Authority. It's now [1:34:27, 1:34:33]: Downtown Development Authority of the City of Stockbridge. Eight words, by the way. [1:34:33, 1:34:53]: And uh and we wanted to incorporate our trade name, which is developing downtown Stockbridge. That makes a much more complicated design. I hope you can appreciate that from a graphics design perspective. And the original scope was not going to align with that. So basically, she's saying that she could do the logo modification. [1:34:53, 1:34:57]: which was the first item here, just getting the logo design. [1:34:58, 1:35:04]: for the twenty nine hundred dollars. And I just wanted to clarify that with with the board that [1:35:05, 1:35:05]: Um [1:35:06, 1:35:26]: If everyone's okay with this, we can move forward with the logo modification, but it's only for the logo modification. Once she gets the design ready, she'll see the scale. And if and it may she may have to provide a different quote for the uh uh business cards and letterhead. But you can kind of see from what she originally scoped out her. [1:35:26, 1:35:46]: Her hours and prices are fairly reasonable. So I don't expect it's going to be way out of line from what she originally quoted, but I did not want to proceed without the board's approval and clarification on the scope. So just to be clear on this, I'm proposing that we move forward with the uh DDA logo modification. [1:35:46, 1:35:53]: for$2,900. Logo modification only. Any questions or comments on that? [1:35:54, 1:35:55]: Second. [1:35:55, 1:35:56]: Thank you, Bob. [1:35:58, 1:36:00]: Any other comments or questions? [1:36:02, 1:36:05]: All right, let's go ahead and vote. All those in favor, please raise your hand. [1:36:07, 1:36:18]: All right. Barber, I don't see your hand. Do you have any questions or Yeah, I think I might abstain from this one because I'm not really sh I maybe cause I missed last meeting. So I didn't want to take up time and have you guys rehash that, but I'm not really. [1:36:20, 1:36:23]: clear on what we're paying for. I mean, I know a logo, but but then what? [1:36:25, 1:36:35]: Uh uh it it would have been a logo, uh two really two packages. It would have been the original logo, which is and let me make this bigger, it's probably hard to read. Um [1:36:36, 1:36:51]: So this is the actual scope that we would be considering. Modifying the city of Stockbridge logo. And as you can see here, this was the original scope to just replace it with Downtown Development Authority. It allows for a round of revisions. They prepare a usage guide. [1:36:51, 1:37:11]: uh for the new DDA logo. And that that tells whoever's going to use the logo, um, you know, needs to be a certain size, a certain scale. You know, if you need to squash it down to, you know, a small thumbnail, then it this is what you do with it. If it's larger, then you can, you know, do certain things with it. So it's basically a full usage guide. [1:37:12, 1:37:26]: And then um that includes the logo library, full color reverse, one color, and black and white uh of the DDA logo. So this this is what we're proposing be done um for$2,900. Does that help answer your? [1:37:27, 1:37:32]: question or um it does but i don't understand what we're doing with that [1:37:32, 1:37:40]: So we have a logo. Great. Then we're doing what with the twenty nine hundred with the logo. I mean, I know what a logo is used for, but in our context. [1:37:41, 1:38:01]: Yeah. Oh, good good good question. Um, I personally think it's fundamental to all of the marketing efforts that we want to do from going forward, which is, you know, there was some discussion about revising our website, you know. Um, I I think we we we we you remember the proposal a few meetings ago from [1:38:00, 1:38:11]: the company that did social media promotion. Um I've we've had some discussions about marketing materials to promote the uh facade grant. [1:38:12, 1:38:13]: And in my mind [1:38:13, 1:38:33]: All of those things are kind of dependent on having a cohesive look consistent logo for the DDA itself because the DDA is a separate organization from the city, and we do need to identify our this group separately. Um, so I still want to see some alignment. So the the instruction and why we're using this. [1:38:33, 1:38:47]: this particular group is so that, you know, uh I'm hoping we can use like the same font and and colors, um, but just make it clear that, you know, it's not one and the same as the city of Stockbridge. [1:38:48, 1:38:48]: Okay. [1:38:49, 1:38:50]: Thank you. [1:38:51, 1:39:11]: Um any other questions or concerns? I and um Mr. Sears, I don't see yet, but um we don't have approval. Uh so anyways, uh Barber, do you did you want to reconsider? So Yeah, I uh yes, my vote is yes. All right. Uh and let me double check with Mr. Sears to see Mr. Sears if you can hear me. [1:39:11, 1:39:13]: Um I don't know if your vote was yes or no. [1:39:18, 1:39:23]: Not hearing you, so I'm gonna mark that as abstain. All right. Alrighty, I got Oh, very good. You're back, sir. [1:39:24, 1:39:36]: I was never going anywhere. Just like uh the computer was freezing up. So I'm sorry about that. Did you have any questions on the um on the No, I was listening I was listening intensively. I didn't have any questions. [1:39:37, 1:39:42]: Very good. Um I didn't get your vote on the uh logo. Was were you in favor? [1:39:43, 1:39:44]: Uh in favor. [1:39:44, 1:39:56]: Yeah, that's a yes. All right. And uh going back to the earlier uh vote um on the um on the proposal for the MLK senior um planning proposal. [1:39:57, 1:40:01]: He said you you stopped the video, so I don't know. I can't I can't I can't put a video on. [1:40:02, 1:40:07]: Oh okay. Um oh hold on a second. Let me let me get to that. See if there's an issue. Just a moment. [1:40:08, 1:40:09]: Well course. [1:40:10, 1:40:10]: [6018.5, 6026.1]: All right. That should be on its way to you, sir. Did you have did you want to um [1:40:27, 1:40:37]: Did you have d did you have a um a response to the um MLK senior uh art consultant proposal for three thousand dollars? [1:40:39, 1:40:40]: No, I don't know. [1:40:41, 1:40:42]: Well, that's less none. [1:40:44, 1:40:44]: All right. [1:40:45, 1:40:47]: So [1:40:48, 1:40:53]: Yeah, yeah. I I do you want to mark it as a yes, no, or abstain? Yeah, yeah, no, yeah, yes. [1:40:54, 1:40:56]: All right. So we'll mark that as a yes vote. [1:40:57, 1:40:58]: We're good. [1:40:58, 1:41:10]: Chair Custom, we also need to go back and get the vote on the mentorship program. Oh good. Um I'm not sure if you had uh heard that part, Mr. Sears, but Yeah, I was right there. I was right in there, just [1:41:10, 1:41:11]: Well. [1:41:13, 1:41:28]: Oh, um, so um we Barber had proposed a um that the DDA board, the DDA join as a board to the downtown uh Georgia Downtown Association for$500. Are you in favor of that? [1:41:31, 1:41:32]: Those. [1:41:33, 1:41:53]: All right, very good. I like that. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate that. All right, we'll move on. Let's see. So uh remaining items on the agenda under old business, just a few updates. Um, we've already covered the mentorship program, the Georgia Tech Market Study. Um, I did get a preliminary results for the [1:41:53, 1:42:01]: The retail portion of the study. I did not share that with you because I was under the impression that we would getting we would be getting the full report. [1:42:02, 1:42:22]: within a few days, but that did not happen. I have reached out to Georgia Tech to see when the full report would be ready and proposed that they could have it ready and actually join us in our September meeting to present it to the DDA and go over any detail. So I asked that we would get the report, the draft report, um [1:42:22, 1:42:42]: At least a week in advance so that we could uh review it and understand it and then have them present it to us and answer any questions that we may have. We won't finalize the report until we have uh the board's approval because this was this was a DEA initiative. So we engaged Georgia Tech and we're we're paying for that study. So we should have more on that by our next meeting. [1:42:42, 1:42:46]: And the um [1:42:46, 1:43:01]: TSW master plan, the next item, item C under old business, that is dependent on the market study to be completed. So once we have that uh completed and approved, then we will engage TSW on the master plan. [1:43:02, 1:43:22]: um downtown strategic work plan. I covered that with our tourism committee focus on the MLK Senior Memorial. The only thing I'll add to that is I would welcome any of you all who want to participate in the um proposed site selections for the down [1:43:22, 1:43:42]: MLK Senior Memorial. The committee has identified, I think, 13 potential locations. And I'm happy to meet one-on-one or as a small group with any of you who are interested in giving your feedback as to what you think would be maybe your vote of which site might be better than the others. [1:43:42, 1:44:02]: Um so if you are interested in giving your feedback, I absolutely welcome it. Um just send me a note and let me know when you might have some time available. Uh for me generally weekdays at five o'clock on most days uh works or even early in the morning. I'm usually up around, you know, up and ready around 8 a.m. [1:44:02, 1:44:18]: Um all right. And uh downtown strategic work plan we've covered and then the committee to draft intergovernmental agreements. So um councilman Alexander, do you happen to have any updates on the um draft IGA that we presented to the city? [1:44:18, 1:44:21]: We uh it's Miss Holliday, you give the update. [1:44:25, 1:44:45]: Ms. Holiday. I was trying trying to unmute. Yes. The only the the as far as I know, it remains the same that it is with the city attorney. I do know that Councilman Alexander has also reached out for a response regarding uh the IGA that has been submitted to legal for review, but we have not received. [1:44:45, 1:44:46]: See it back at this point. [1:44:47, 1:44:55]: Right. And I had uh in my email I had indicated that we wanted it ready for our next meeting. So we will hope that that's the case. [1:44:56, 1:45:16]: And is that the next city council meeting or the next DDA meeting? Next city council meeting. City Council meeting. August 30th. August 30th. Okay, great. Um well I look forward to any developments on there. And I uh Bob and I worked on that uh pretty uh uh you know pretty in depth. Uh so if there's any questions on the content in the [1:45:16, 1:45:24]: The draft. Um, Bob, I hope I'm speaking fairly for you. Either of us are happy to answer any questions that the attorneys or the city council may have. [1:45:25, 1:45:26]: Sure. Yeah. [1:45:27, 1:45:35]: All right. All right. That concludes, I think, all of the items that we have on the agenda. I'll open it up for any uh general comments before we um [1:45:36, 1:45:38]: Um motion to adjourn. [1:45:39, 1:45:43]: The last thing I have to say is the logo is extremely important. We need it. [1:45:43, 1:45:45]: You know, we've talked about having apparel. [1:45:46, 1:46:03]: Uh maybe jackets and that kind of thing to go with it, business cards, those kind of things. All the marketing materials certainly uh would need the logo to go on it. And then, you know, when we get our space at the new offices, we need a logo on the wall representing us. So certainly. [1:46:04, 1:46:06]: Excellent point. Yep. [1:46:06, 1:46:09]: Um, all right. Thank you for that, councilman. Anyone else? [1:46:10, 1:46:15]: Yeah, not just a logo on the wall but or a logo on a T shirt and jacket, like you said, you know, something to [1:46:15, 1:46:18]: Especially when we go into the um potato. [1:46:18, 1:46:23]: So that people if they have any questions and anything like that, they can s you can stand out and [1:46:24, 1:46:24]: Um um [1:46:25, 1:46:31]: Oh, that's it for them. So I think that's very important also. Yes, sir. [1:46:33, 1:46:35]: All right. Any other comments? [1:46:38, 1:46:58]: All right. So would anyone like to make a motion to adjourn? Yes. Would would you like to make a motion to adjourn, uh, Mr. Sears? I'll be glad to make a motion that we all uh sh close this meeting and second, second, second. All hearts and minds are okay. Second. [1:46:57, 1:47:17]: Second. A second. Any further discussion? All right. All those in favor to adjourn, please uh raise your hand. All right. I think that's unanimous. Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate you staying on a little bit longer and deeply appreciate your service to the DDA and the city of Stockbridge. Appreciate it. Have a great night. [1:47:17, 1:47:20]: Good night. Thank you. Uh [1:47:20, 1:47:23]: Thank you, everybody. Uh uh. [1:47:26, 1:47:28]: Bom, de s.
