Fellow citizens. In the June 16 special called meeting we also tenatively hired a city manager. The new “sole finalist” for Stockbridge City Manager is Dr. Emmanuel Adediran. He was recently terminated from College Park City about 3 weeks ago. It seems from initial reading of Saporta that there were more employees than Dr. Adediran fired. The central issue seems to be in un-vetted vendors being pushed through procurement.
However, the central issue in the spirit of this blog is unlawful code enforcement orders and the recent apartment condemnation in College Park City. That’s right along the lines of what’s to happen to the 300 redevelopment victims. Adrienne Murchison writing for Saporta has the most recent scrutiny. Of note, the College Park procurement officer promoted into Dr. Adediran’s role is Lindell Miller. Former procurement officer for the City of Stockbridge and currently embroiled in an employment lawsuit with the C.o.S.
The comments of the former College Park employees in Ms. Murchison’s story:
College Park City meetings can be found here. if you’re inclined to hunt comments and find one pertinent to Stockbridge interest. Please do drop me a line.
Dr. Adediran is walking into another procurement nightmare fostered by the now terminated Harold Young. The “soundbooth proposal” embedded below is the follow up to a presentation at the January 8th, 2025 City of Stockbridge council retreat. The presentation material is presented by the now fired Harold Young. I don’t know how or why this soundbooth was presented on Jan. 8th nor why HJ Russell was selected. Although the Amphitheater paving & seat job, which is half the soundbooth cost was bid out. This soundbooth job doesn’t appear in the Georgia Procurement Registry.
You’ll have to set aside how stupid it is to build an amphitheater with no sound booth. Then try and run it from a tent in the middle of a crowd of entitled drunks. Four years they ran “best in class” shows in this manner. Then they wonder why it sounds like shit. As re; sounding like shit. Don’t take it from me, but from Anthony Hamilton’s crew setting up on this past Father’s Day.
The January presentation mentions Kirk Voelkel of HJ Russell Construction and points to attached financials, but they’re not attached to the official agenda. Kirk built the amphitheater in the first place. I fondly remember him calling the police on me every time he saw me on my own sidewalk.
But who cares about 2020. Here’s what’s going on right now. I intend to see the following “proposal” bid out, as per OCGA 36-91 et al. That’s all I have for now folks. The game remains the same.
