The city’s own research on the March 31 agenda provides a decent factual basis for why Lee St was named for the Local Lee family. The issue was tabled 3 times to produce the 32 pages of research. But it wasn’t presented at the March 31 meeting so the city could save face.
Well. Elton looks like he doesn’t know what he was talking about either way you cut the mustard. The city followed him down a deep dark alley of lies, then covered up the bankrupt narrative behind weasel words about honoring legacies.
So, here in their own words. They admit simultaneously they know the facts in 32 pages. But say to the news and to the March 31, 2026 dais, “there’s no proof.”
