--- title: March 26 2019 Special Called Meeting date: 2019-03-26 source: 2019-03-26_March_26_2019_Special_Called_Meeting.wav --- [0:00:00, 0:00:10]: So we need to honor and respect the position because I will remove myself as a council member. And when I elect, I elect a mayor. [0:00:11, 0:00:16]: Okay so thank you. All right. On that note, we'll stop all the comments and we'll take the vote and then we'll move on. [0:00:16, 0:00:18]: So all in favor of motion, please indicate. [0:00:21, 0:00:27]: All all opposed. Three two motion passes. All right. Now, council number eight's been taken off. [0:00:27, 0:00:47]: Council consideration to approve the request to use the Test Strickland Community Center on uh April nineteenth, twenty nineteen, from six PM to nine PM for the Youth Council Art Show. Presented by Councilwoman Robinson, please. Thank you, Mayor. Um this was on the calendar for a while and I'm actually presenting this as I've have done in the past because I'm the youth council the liaison. [0:00:47, 0:01:07]: However, I did want to publicly let that be known um that at the end of this term, I will have advised Mayor and Council that I will be stepping down um and going out as a council initiative doing a different program um that will remove politics from our young people. So with this being stated. [0:01:07, 0:01:27]: Um the youth have decided that they want to do an end-of-the-year event, which is their art show. Um they've actually had meetings, they've discussed on their own on how they're gonna do different things with this art show. So they're looking to um use the facilities on April the 19th from 6 to 9 p.m. [0:01:27, 0:01:34]: um for their art show. They have put out flyers um to um their s their um [0:01:35, 0:01:55]: Peers, um in reference to this art show, um, because it was approved by the advisory board as well. So all of this has been approved on items nine and ten when I um present this has been approved um by the um advisory board of the youth council. So again, Mayor, I would like to make a motion for [0:01:55, 0:02:06]: For the youth to be approved to use the Ted Strickland on April the nineteenth from six to nine PM for their art show. Second. All right. Further discussion. [0:02:07, 0:02:27]: Yes, could we go ahead and um do you want to go ahead and add the other one on so we can go ahead and can we do that in just one motion? No no no no we'll take we'll take them separately. I'll take them separately, no problem. We'll take it separately. Any further discussion? Mayor. Yes ma'am. For clarification, uh Councilwoman Robinson, you stated um at the end of this term, I just want you to specify [0:02:27, 0:02:40]: uh the term because is in May. Not your election term, but yes, yes. There this the term for these students for twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen, their term ends in May and that's when I would end my term with them in May. [0:02:42, 0:02:48]: Any further discussion? Okay, if not, all in favor of the motion please indicate one one discussion. [0:02:48, 0:03:08]: Go right ahead. Um in regards to the process of this on April nineteenth, that's fine. However, I understand the advisory board voted in favor of it just for clarification purposes. The council still has to vote whether or not to utilize facilities. Um and that's what we're doing here today. So [0:03:08, 0:03:16]: Yes, the advisory board it could have went through and they could have had they could have talked about it, but the council still has to [0:03:17, 0:03:18]: Vote for it. [0:03:18, 0:03:25]: And today on Facebook it's already being advertised. So it's being advertised prematurely. [0:03:25, 0:03:45]: Um because we haven't voted for the use of it yet. Even though I plan on voting for it. I'm just saying it was advertised prematurely and just to give them a heads up on that. Mayor. If I can um in the past we've never had this discussion because generally when it comes to our youth, if facilities are available [0:03:45, 0:04:05]: We've never had the question of how they've advertised, but I will um let the advisory board know um Councilwoman Gantt's um concerns for few for their future um notices. All right. Okay. Okay. Motion's on the floor. It's been seconded. All in favor of motion, please indicate. Okay. Thank you very much. [0:04:06, 0:04:11]: Council consideration approved the request to use Murray Manners Conference Center, May fourth, twenty nineteen. [0:04:11, 0:04:31]: twelve P. M. which is noon to four PM for the youth council workshop. Miss Robinson, please. Yes. Um again, this is the end of the year that the students will do every year. Um if there's any of well, I'm just saying every year that they've done the past two years that I have um been um the council liaison. Uh moving forward, I don't know what they will do, but [0:04:31, 0:04:51]: generally is something that is on their calendar to do at the end of the year. This one would be the use to do a workshop that they're going to do at the Merrill Manders Conference Center. This would be on a Friday. I did check and the availability is there. And the time if you look at it, it is available. And basically [0:04:51, 0:05:11]: Basically, what they will be doing, they will be utilizing the outside, the parking lot, and parts of the downstairs where the balcony is to do their workshop. So this is more so an outdoor event of the Merle. However, they will have one some of the rooms at the floor level. Um, so they'll have their refreshments. [0:05:11, 0:05:25]: and different things. Um and so I would like to make a motion for the youth council to be able to complete their youth council workshop on May the fourth from twelve PM to four PM. Is there a second? Second. Any further discussion? [0:05:25, 0:05:34]: If you're just for clarification, you said Friday. But in May 4th is actually a Saturday. But I mean Saturday. I'm sorry. It is available. Yes. [0:05:35, 0:05:37]: All favor of motion, please indicate. [0:05:38, 0:05:58]: Okay, Shanels. Thank you very much. Thank you. And I and Mayor, if I can add, please support these young people. Um, because they've done a lot. Um, it takes a lot um with they have extra curricular activities that they have at school. So they're putting their young minds together, creating all of this. So I would ask my colleagues and also everyone to please support them. [0:05:58, 0:05:59]: Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. [0:05:59, 0:06:16]: Council Consideration approved printing and marketing services for the city to be awarded to Curtis 1000, subsidiary of Taylor Strategic Relationships, TSR RE Contract 111815, C of Stoppers Contract Number 2019008P. [0:06:16, 0:06:23]: Not to exceed fifty thousand dollars, presented by Miss Lindell Miller, please. Good afternoon, Mayor. Council. Afternoon. [0:06:23, 0:06:40]: City staff is requesting approval to utilize a cooperative contract which was um competitively bid through SourceWill uh for an annual amount not to exceed fifty thousand dollars for our printing and marketing services, more specifically for our new branding launching. [0:06:40, 0:06:44]: Okay, thank you. Any questions, Council for Miss Miller? [0:06:44, 0:07:04]: Yes. Uh no. The contract was awarded by SourceWell, which is NG which was formerly known as [0:07:04, 0:07:18]: NJPA. It's a cooperative, meaning that it's utilized from most purchasing agencies or government entities throughout the country. That allows us to get more competitive bidding and competitive pricing. [0:07:18, 0:07:38]: In the back, attached, is a is a copy um of the actual award. The award was made to uh Taylor Strategic Relationship. Um also a subsidiary is Curtis, and they're not local. It's not a local company, but it's being utilized for most of most of our huge branding um projects. [0:07:38, 0:07:44]: projects. Okay. Any more questions for Ms. Miller. If not I need a motion, please. [0:07:45, 0:07:52]: Mayor, I move that we approve the um printing and marking services for the city to be awarded to Curtis One Thousand. [0:07:52, 0:07:53]: Okay, so [0:07:53, 0:07:56]: Okay, the second down. Any further discussion? [0:07:56, 0:07:58]: If not, all in favor please indicate. [0:07:59, 0:08:01]: Okay, thank you very much. Thank you, Ms. Miller. [0:08:02, 0:08:09]: Council consideration to approve RFQ for qualified contractors to bid on the amphitheater project. Mr. Knighton, please. [0:08:09, 0:08:17]: Yes, if you would give me just one moment, sir, I wanted to bring something up here. [0:08:30, 0:08:33]: All right. Um mayor and council. Um [0:08:34, 0:08:54]: We wanted to come before you this evening and um seek your approval to move forward uh with an RFQ for qualified bidders for the amphitheater project. As you can see here on the screen, this is a rendering, merely a rendering in concept of the um amphitheater proposed amphitheater project. [0:08:53, 0:09:08]: Uh the actual bidders uh will be bidding on one hundred percent construction uh documents. Uh this will be a two-tiered process in which we will qualify bidders first and then we will go back out to get actual [0:09:08, 0:09:10]: Um um [0:09:10, 0:09:30]: bids uh on the uh amphitheater construct the construction component of the amphitheater project. Uh the overall rendering here uh depicts about um twelve to thirteen hundred fixed seating and then additional terrace seating uh for an overall capacity of uh just over three thousand about thirty two hundred [0:09:30, 0:09:50]: uh to three thousand um uh thirty f thirty two hundred thirty five hundred excuse me uh full capacity. Um as you can see there are a number of box seats there uh off to the right uh there is also a green room and terrace and a state of the art stage. Um this will be um if uh built as we envision [0:09:50, 0:10:10]: A state-of-the-art amphitheater that will certainly be a catalyst for everything that we hope to see in the downtown area. So our request to you this evening is to allow us to move forward with seeking qualified bidders for this amphitheater project. And again, we're moving in a two-tier. [0:10:10, 0:10:14]: [614.5, 622.0]: The qualify bidders first, and then go back out and then select an actual construction contractor. [0:10:22, 0:10:22]: Yeah. [0:10:23, 0:10:24]: Go right, please. Do you have a question? [0:10:24, 0:10:42]: Yes, sir. I want uh the city manager to when w when we as council and as a city endeavored to move forward with this amphitheater project, talk about the charge that we gave you and when what the goal and where the bar was set. [0:10:43, 0:10:55]: Well obviously through um several discussions that we had, um the mayor and council uh want to have uh a um top notch uh premier venue. [0:10:55, 0:11:15]: Uh to provide for the citizens of the city of Stockbridge and the region. We certainly expect that this amphitheater project will draw people throughout the state of Georgia, certainly throughout the Atlanta region, given the type of shows, concerts, um, stage plays, other events that we would envision having at this facility. Um we obviously have [0:11:15, 0:11:27]: uh TSW, Turner Spangler and Walsh as an architect, which is a top architectural firm in the metropolitan Atlanta area. And we went through a painstaking process to get to this point. [0:11:27, 0:11:31]: Uh we talked to a number of people who are involved in the industry. Everyone [0:11:31, 0:11:34]: Who's an expert in sound? [0:11:34, 0:11:35]: And lighting. [0:11:36, 0:11:37]: in stage [0:11:38, 0:11:58]: uh in concessions and parking. We obviously visited a number of sites throughout the Metro Atlanta region and took components that we thought were would be the essential components of those particular amphitheater projects and we compiled them into this project that you see here. [0:11:57, 0:12:01]: We think that we've taken all of the elements uh that are [0:12:02, 0:12:14]: have been successful in other places. We've in incorporated those into this proposed project. And we think that the end product will be something that uh everyone in the city can be very proud of. Follow up. [0:12:15, 0:12:35]: Okay, any further questions? Follow up. In terms of um this particular project, you said that it was a two-tier process. Give us a timeline on those two tiers and when you think uh roughly the construction will begin and how it will kinda lay out [0:12:35, 0:12:55]: for the public so they can understand this is not something we're looking at far off into the future. This is something that we're looking at moving forward with so the people, so the public uh clearly understands this. And I think in add to what your previous comments were, we wanted the best amphitheater in the state of [0:12:54, 0:13:13]: Georgia. We did not want to just have A amphitheater, and I think you alluded to that we wanted the best in class, but and that's exactly where we wanted to go. Can you talk about the timetable on the two-tier process and the construction? Sure. There have been a number of components to this. Uh some have moved a little bit slower than we would have liked, however. [0:13:13, 0:13:19]: Uh it was incumbent upon the staff to make sure we got this right and we feel very comfortable with where we are. [0:13:19, 0:13:39]: Uh also um also the addition of additional property also helped in the um design of the amphitheater, which was very key uh to what you see here. Um we will put this out to bid um um within a week time frame. It will be out 30 days. Then we will receive those back, get your [0:13:39, 0:13:54]: your approval on the qualified bidder list and then we will go out for the actual uh construction bids which would likely be another 30 days and at that point once selection is made we expect to break ground uh at that point. So we're looking at the early summer. [0:13:55, 0:13:55]: Okay. [0:13:55, 0:14:03]: Mayor. You go right here, please. Maybe Mayor, I move that we approve the RFQ for qualified contractors to bid on the amphitheater project. Second. [0:14:03, 0:14:16]: Okay. Any further discussion? I do. Go right ahead, please. Um just to uh loosen up a little bit. Um Miss Moore, did you get my Misters added? So when it's hot out there, like Disney? Okay. [0:14:16, 0:14:26]: Any other comments? Okay. Got a motion, it's been seconded. All in favor of motion, please indicate. There you go. Outstanding. Appreciate that. All right. We're gonna go into comments. Um [0:14:26, 0:14:29]: Madam Clerk, we've got a three minute limit, need for you to run the clock. [0:14:31, 0:14:32]: Uh city manager, sir. [0:14:32, 0:14:33]: What kind of comments do you have? [0:14:34, 0:14:54]: I'm just wanted to again thank uh everyone for uh the staff for the wonderful job they do uh every day. I cannot tell you um how hard many of our staff members work uh each day to provide an excellent uh level of service uh to the citizens of um the city of Stockbridge. And um I see that the SPLOSS meeting is mentioned. [0:14:54, 0:15:14]: On here, so I will defer those comments until I guess the mayor will mention those. But I would encourage everyone to attend the SPLOSS meeting on the 16th of April to receive input. We want to receive everyone's input about the upcoming proposed SPLOSS specific to the city of Stockbridge. That'll be very important for us. [0:15:14, 0:15:29]: as we uh move forward when drawing up a spLOS list of projects um that would move forward to a vote in November of this year. Thank you. That's all sir. Appreciate it. Madam Clerk. Okay. [0:15:36, 0:15:56]: Councilman Thomas, please, your comments. Thank you, Mayor. Just like to take this opportunity to reflect on our first responders. I just want to say thank you to all of them for their courage, their dedication, and their commitment to keep us safe here in the city. [0:15:56, 0:16:16]: Of Stockbridge. As many of you know, um we had a private vigil um last week. Today we had the first responders luncheon. Uh it was received well. Um all of the re responders f really thanked us for recognizing them. [0:16:16, 0:16:36]: what they do. I just want to take this opportunity to thank the my councilmates uh for supporting that initiative. Um that's one of the initiatives that I take a uh great pride in in in coming forward with. And I just want to say uh thanks to all of the first responders, all of the [0:16:36, 0:16:56]: staff. I want to thank our executive to the mayor and council, uh, Mrs. Jackson for her hard work and making sure that this took place and uh and everyone that had a hand in this, uh our PO, PIO officer, um, and everyone that had a hand in this. And I just want to say thank you. Um [0:16:55, 0:17:15]: It was worthwhile today to be able to recognize and to thank all of our first responders and and they really uh appreciated. They was pretty tired. Um I was told that many of them were resting, they had time off, and it it was reflected in the numbers. [0:17:15, 0:17:35]: But um the thoughts still went out. And um again, I just want to say thank you for uh for the city of Thy Grid to put that out there uh for all of our first responders. Thank you. And we do have one here. Let's take take a moment to um give um our first responders that's here. [0:17:35, 0:17:46]: Uh he's always here. We see him and so we Officer Scott, we just wanted to thank you uh for as as a first responders uh here and uh [0:17:59, 0:17:59]: Thank you, sir. [0:18:05, 0:18:07]: Mayor Pro Tam Pont, please. [0:18:07, 0:18:25]: Yes, I wanna to also concur a lot of the sentiments by uh Councilman Thomas. Uh the first respondent luncheon was awesome. Um talking to a lot of the officers and first respondents prior to uh today uh during the course of their um [0:18:25, 0:18:30]: um gathering themselves and finding balance again, uh, my hearts go out to [0:18:30, 0:18:42]: you, my friend, uh Officer Scott and and the rest that have um that was involved and the whole departments. Um I knew uh Officer Webb, he was the one that dove through the um [0:18:43, 0:19:03]: He was one that was involved pretty deeply. And uh his his courage and his and his endurance to really just want to stay in the game was was really he's a you all are heroes in my book. Um one of the things that took place Saturday was that we had a um prayer visual, which the family was there very thankful. And I just want to say that [0:19:03, 0:19:04]: That [0:19:05, 0:19:08]: When it comes to tragedies that we've just suffered. [0:19:10, 0:19:18]: Um, there's no right or wrong way to pray for people. There's no right or wrong way to um comfort. [0:19:18, 0:19:21]: I would say whatever you do is all the above. [0:19:22, 0:19:32]: Um and when I saw others come together and visiting the house and talking to family members and neighbors in the community, so many of the neighbors that I knew. [0:19:33, 0:19:36]: Um I also had uh the opportunity to [0:19:37, 0:19:40]: talked to several officers and and [0:19:40, 0:20:00]: The appreciation that and love that that is being shown to them by so many people, it it definitely it definitely goes in line with our uh tagline, uh community connects. Uh one of the things that I did discuss is that we don't my concern is not about this imaginary line that separates city and county. When it comes to tragedy in any [0:20:00, 0:20:04]: form, shape, or form. It's about communities coming together. [0:20:05, 0:20:22]: And so that's what I believe that happened Saturday. Um, that the community came together and it was a awesome event. Uh on a brighter note, um that on this uh twenty-fourth of this month there'll be uh senior bingo bass because we have Cities Week. [0:20:22, 0:20:26]: And uh because of cities we we're gonna make it something special so [0:20:26, 0:20:43]: If you're fifty five and over, come to the bingo bash. If you're under that, you can come and cheer your special bingo player on. So So we uh but I just don't ever want us to forget, not o in our own personal life, whatever we do, what is the purpose of you doing it? [0:20:45, 0:20:48]: Just think about the purpose of what we do. Thank you all for coming. [0:20:48, 0:20:49]: Yeah. [0:20:52, 0:20:54]: Councilwoman Gantt please. Thank you. [0:20:56, 0:21:14]: to mayor and council and to our staff, um to our first responders, Officer Scott, um I see you often and um to the surrounding cities and and and from the federal bureau of investigation, Georgia GBI and [0:21:14, 0:21:17]: Clayton County, DeCab County, Butts County. [0:21:17, 0:21:37]: We truly showed what happens when there's a tragedy in this place, in any place, in America. And it is just um it was a very um tense moment um that hit so close to home that I believe it has affected each and every one of us in our own. [0:21:37, 0:21:57]: own personal way. And I just want to let the the first responders, the officers, and everyone that was involved know how greatly I appreciate them. I feel safe knowing that if a tragedy was to occur, that everyone pulled together and did what they needed to do. I [0:21:57, 0:22:17]: I'd like to thank everyone who came out and participated in the prayer vigil. It was phenomenal, very so real to have Miss Wright there, the mother and the father in the family, and to speak about any type of domestic violence. [0:22:17, 0:22:37]: Violence and abuse. Those are things that we should be aware of. I usually don't give comment, public comments, but I also want you to I ask that you continue to keep those those families in prayer. You know, a a young man who's 16 years old. [0:22:37, 0:22:41]: old that was a football player at Dutchtown High School, lost his life. [0:22:42, 0:23:02]: And as a mom, I just, you know, that feeling in your heart, someone innocent throughout the in you know, but you have the couples have arguments, but you have someone who had so much going for him, it's mom. So let's continue to pray for that family and let's continue to pray for our city and our country. Um stop bridges. [0:23:02, 0:23:22]: Where community connects. And we truly showed that this weekend. I also want to invite you to the art, I'm having a art painting for Georgia City's week. I've had two before for one for seniors, one for youth, but it will be April 25th at 6 o'clock PM. [0:23:22, 0:23:29]: Six thirty PM over at the Ted Strickland Center. And that's a nice painting art canvas thing. Thank you. [0:23:35, 0:23:37]: Councilman Alexander, please. [0:23:38, 0:23:58]: Uh thank you, Mayor. Yeah, thank everybody for coming out tonight and I'd like to thank everybody that's tuning in on our new video system that we had installed specifically uh for the public to be able to partake and understand the function of their city and municipal government to [0:23:57, 0:24:14]: and the way that we govern the city. Uh I think we did um identify Officer Scott, but I think our new fire marshal is a first responder as well, and uh we don't wanna leave him out and give him a round of applause for coming to join us. [0:24:23, 0:24:43]: I um just want to say that I too I did enjoy the um visual this weekend. I especially enjoyed coming out and meeting the family at the house. Uh Miss Kathy White and and her husband, they're just tremendous people. And as we surround and we go through uh [0:24:43, 0:24:47]: our particular community we gotta understand the need is now. [0:24:48, 0:24:51]: Uh, they were over there moving out or packing up the house. [0:24:51, 0:24:53]: If you're an able bodied person, [0:24:53, 0:24:55]: They could use your help. [0:24:55, 0:24:57]: In order to square that away. [0:24:58, 0:25:07]: As we think about these times, they need food over at the house, they need several other things. Uh as a caring community, maybe we could come out and support them. [0:25:07, 0:25:27]: They have a GoFundMe account. I don't normally share GoFundMe accounts on my media presence, but I did this time because the need was so great in this family. And I proudly say today it was up to sixteen thousand dollars with the goal of twenty-five thousand dollars uh raised so far. Uh uh or the goal of twenty. [0:25:27, 0:25:47]: twenty five thousand. We raised sixteen. But think about it, keep giving, keep donating to this family because they need all of that in order to move forward with their lives. The last thing they should have to worry about is a financial concern, losing a daughter, a grandson, and an unborn child. That is something that we [0:25:47, 0:26:07]: uh owe them in my uh opinion and to continue to give. Uh I want everybody to Trail Alive is coming up for Cities Week and we want to make sure that you come out to walk, run or ride with Reece Creek Trail uh during Cities Week. It's on the twenty seventh. Get out, stay active in Stockbridge. Uh it was [0:26:07, 0:26:27]: sobering I was over at Piedmont Henry and they said Henry County uh in the surrounding area we were number one uh for heart conditions and heart attacks uh we were number one in the area for heart disease it was it that was something that we gotta step up and we gotta do something about and let [0:26:27, 0:26:37]: Lastly, I will say that I'll challenge this council every single time the rest of the year to say this. We need three projects in the ground this year for SPLOS. [0:26:37, 0:26:38]: Thank you. [0:26:39, 0:26:40]: Could you reset it, please? [0:26:46, 0:26:48]: I mean five minutes, please. [0:26:48, 0:26:49]: Mm-hmm. [0:26:49, 0:27:09]: Ms. Robinson, please. Yes, thank you, Mayor. Um again, I echo what my colleagues have stated about our first responders. Um Officer Taylor Webb, he's done a lot with us here in Stockbridge. He's the tall fella that I always like to Yeah. He's um so with Webb, it's a [0:27:09, 0:27:21]: matter of knowing that they are they've been in our community. They've been in our community. They love our community. When there's food trucks, they're here, they're relaxed and they're here. [0:27:22, 0:27:42]: in the community. Um so to um Taylor Webb and Keegan Keegan Merritt, just know that um they are definitely in our continuous prayers and hopefully Scott you can go back and tell them if there's anything we can do, please let us know um here at the city. Also want to say thank you to Pastor Timothy um T [0:27:42, 0:28:02]: TJ Pastor TJ McBride with Tabernacle Praise because he did um open arms for the family. So they will be doing a viewing on Thursday. So if you all want to participate, it's gonna be Thursday at Tabernacle Praise from 6 to 8 p.m. in August. [0:28:01, 0:28:21]: Also on Wednesday, the NAACP Youth Council in our city of Stockbridge Youth Council, who are gonna be in a supportive role to the NAACP Youth Council. They've actually gonna do it as the youth at Mickey D. Cochrane Park on Wednesday at 7:30. Um so it's gonna be a lot of young people. [0:28:21, 0:28:22]: Um [0:28:22, 0:28:42]: That are hurting. So if you have a sincere heart, please go out and pray and uphold these young people. Cause they just came off a spring break, not realizing that their classmate is gone and he will not come back. Outstanding student on the football team. Um, so it's a lot of [0:28:42, 0:29:02]: of our young people are hurting in our community. So we just need to know that whatever differences, just put it aside and be there for the the youth in our community. We have so much going on as you see with our amphitheater that is coming. We have the planning and zoning that is coming. [0:29:02, 0:29:22]: Um this council has put things in motion. So we've got a lot more to do. Um, but we can't do it without you. Whatever concerns, thoughts that you may have, please bring them to us and share those with us. But again, for those that came out tonight, thank you so much for taking the time um to be here. Um [0:29:22, 0:29:26]: to get information to support our city. Thank you so much. [0:29:31, 0:29:45]: Thank you, madam clerk. Go right ahead. Uh for the council's um understanding here of the facility use uh policy that we recently adopted, I want you to know that I have a diabetes workshop that I'm working with organization for with on for Saturday, November ninth. [0:29:45, 0:29:59]: And I'm also working with a different organization for an economic summit scheduled for June thirteenth at this pri time. And one's on a weekend and one's on on the weekday. And by the policy, I believe that is as authorized and that would max me out for the use of the moral matters and that concept. So just so you know that. [0:29:59, 0:30:06]: Okay. On that issue, uh besides it being uh uh first responders and the great work they did. [0:30:06, 0:30:10]: And the last couple days with a tragedy in our community, besides Officer Webb and Merritt. [0:30:10, 0:30:30]: You gotta recall that in the last year and a half we've had a couple of the officers that actually gave their lives up s uh uh for the for the community. Uh Officer Smith and also Chase Maddox uh uh did as well. Uh so obviously uh we definitely appreciate the the officers in the fire department, uh the emergency management folks, uh [0:30:30, 0:30:33]: our fire marshal that we have now as well. [0:30:33, 0:30:36]: and the sheriff's department for all that they do. [0:30:36, 0:30:56]: uh this aspect to keep us safe and keep us uh secure as best as possible in our community. Um I won't tell you that the prayer visual was fantastic the other day. The white family was very appreciative. Uh this obviously this this particular incident got national attention. Um kind of surprised me that it did, but then again it just makes me think that [0:30:56, 0:30:57]: That whatever we do in Stockbridge. [0:30:58, 0:30:59]: Good, bad, or indifferent. [0:30:59, 0:31:02]: It will get attention. So we just have to be on our P's and Q's and [0:31:02, 0:31:10]: Make sure we're doing the proper and right thing because uh folks are watching, not just in the media area, not just in the state, but across the nation, I'll tell ya. [0:31:11, 0:31:17]: When you have the World News Night with David Muir on Friday night with the lead story of this tragedy that happened and then [0:31:17, 0:31:19]: The following morning on Good Morning America. [0:31:19, 0:31:39]: It was not the least story, but it was about 10 minutes into the broadcast, an old school national. So that's something for us to be aware of in reference to how we conduct ourselves here and what happens within our city itself. Um happy Easter, everybody. It's right around the corner. And uh I want you citizens to make sure that you keep the faith with us because we're going to move the city forward. [0:31:39, 0:31:52]: With your help and your guidance and your and with a listen here. So continue to uh pray for us all and because we are a community that uh community that actually connects. And then of course on the twenty seventh and trail live at Reese Creek Trail Memorial Park and uh Councilman uh Man Alexander has that one. And we got a bunch of ongoing initiatives that we're constantly uh going. So I'm gonna leave that alone for this moment. On that note, um [0:34:25, 0:34:29]: Co um Mr. Turney, I think we have a second session, is that correct? [0:34:34, 0:34:40]: Okay, we have a personal matter to discuss.
