[0:29:56, 0:29:58]: That states that's not something we should be doing. [0:29:58, 0:30:15]: Okay, okay, Mr. Blount, you abstain or opposed. No, no, I I would concur. I thought after a first and a second, as you asked for any questions, which you didn't ask for. Well, what it is, sir, is that any questions should have been discussed in execular session. That's what exactly sessions for, sir. [0:30:16, 0:30:31]: Well, the presentation well if we if we change stuff and as we do at this council periodically, uh I I would like to say my my vote is no because of that feasibility study, because there's no plan right now in place, because the citizens are unaware of what's going on and [0:30:32, 0:30:43]: And and uh know the ins and out of what we're doing. So uh I'm pretty sure Mr. Tramer is uh fine and uh good prospect for what the city wants to do in the future. But right now, until all the uh [0:30:44, 0:30:51]: T uh I's a dot and T's across and every and and and something to support a s something systematic with how we will move forward. [0:30:52, 0:30:53]: Uh I will have to vote no. [0:30:54, 0:31:14]: All right, the the motion passed three to two. Congratulations, Mr. Tramer. Welcome to the city of Stockbridge, sir. Really appreciate the we're gonna have a great time together. You're you're gonna do well. All right. Oh, okay. Well, I did. We I did call for the vote. It's it's it I did I not call for the vote? It's three too. No, no. [0:31:13, 0:31:14]: Yes. [0:31:14, 0:31:16]: It was it was a vote. [0:31:16, 0:31:19]: The vote was three two okay now. [0:31:19, 0:31:39]: I thought okay. I'm sorry. Yeah, what was three two? Congratulations, Mr. Tramor. And attorneys, make sure you keep us straight, please. Okay? Yeah. Thank you very much. All right. Now, well how about this? We'll make it brief, folks. Anybody, Mr. Tramor, not better yet. Mr. Tramor, sir, you. Any comments? [0:31:39, 0:31:40]: Yes, you have, sir. [0:31:41, 0:31:46]: Yes, Mayor, thank you. Uh first first of all, I'd just like to say what an honor and a privilege it is to have the opportunity to [0:31:47, 0:31:52]: uh serve in this position. Um, I think first and foremost I'd like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity. [0:31:53, 0:31:57]: To serve the city of Stockbridge and to serve its citizens as its chief of police. [0:31:57, 0:32:08]: I'd also like to thank Mr. Knighton, uh, yourself and members of the council for placing their faith and trust in my ability to fulfill this important role. And I understand that there are some concerns. [0:32:08, 0:32:11]: that were expressed by Councilwoman Gantt and also Councilman Blount. [0:32:11, 0:32:12]: Um [0:32:12, 0:32:32]: And um I I hope that uh by virtue of uh working together, we'll be able to work through some of those concerns and move forward with the full implementation of this department. And last but certainly not least, I'd just like to thank my family for the many sacrifices and support uh that they've offered. Uh one of the things that I think I've conveyed to all of you, but would like to convey publicly. [0:32:32, 0:32:38]: publicly is that I believe that policing is truly one of the highest callings and most noble professions in this world. [0:32:39, 0:32:48]: I believe that each day, every one of us that serve in the role of a police officer has a unique opportunity to help members of our community, oftentimes in their greatest need. [0:32:48, 0:33:01]: To be truly effective, I believe that policing has to be an interactive process between our police and members of the community. And I certainly hold true to the historic tradition that our police are the public and our public are the police. [0:33:01, 0:33:08]: That the police are only members of our community who are designated to give full-time attention to duties that are incumbent upon all of us, the interests of community welfare. [0:33:09, 0:33:16]: And so therefore I believe that policing should always maintain or police should always maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with our community. [0:33:17, 0:33:23]: Because the ability of our department to effectively perform its roles is really and truly dependent upon the community's approval of our existing. [0:33:24, 0:33:43]: Our actions and most certainly our behavior. And faithful and prudent execution of this tremendous trust, I see is a great responsibility. It requires a spirit of service, a spirit of integrity and accountability, as well as commitment and wise executive stewardship, which by the grace of God I promise to bring to this position.
